Chako Restaurant

I thought this place had closed down. Happy to find it open. The food was good and the experience is unique. I was very annoyed and disappointed at their “Service Charge” of 10% added to the bill. Our server was keeping the bill and just telling us how much we owed, which seemed strange. When I caught a glimpse and saw the service charge, I assumed it was a built in tip, strange for a table of 4. I called it out before others paid. Our server was annoyed with me. She explained that it was a service charge that was shared with everyone and that the tip was for her service. Next time I will deduct the 10% from any potential tip I wish to leave.

I love this place. The food is magnificent, the service is nice and it's reasonably priced. The reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because the over head lights above the cooking area are super dusty. But if you could over look the 2 inches of dust above your food, I would recommend trying this place out .

This was an excellent experience. You get to cook your own food on the burners in your table. Would definitely recommend it for anyone who's into trying new things. All the raw meat and the veggies you want will be provided to you. You just need to cook it right in front of your eyes. It was a fun night.

The bad service here really overshadows the tasty food and unique experience of Chako. Our server was overbearing and hovered over our table like we were children. She looked like she was going to throw my friend on the grill when she didn’t tip her at the end. But if we’re talking strictly about food, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had!

The food was fresh and great. I liked the decor but I wish there was a better ventilation system. It's very smoky in there.

Delicious barbecue with lots of flavour. I do prefer the dinner menu and wished we had pineapple available for lunch!

Great service. The dinner menu is 🔥🔥.. Chako select beef is totally worth it. If you are ever hungry.. Chako will never disappoint. The sushi is not bad either and quick service.

We had a great time here! Nice selection of meats and cocktails. Great ambience. Love the location, there are lots to do around. We took a quick stroll to the Cineplex a few steps away after eating. Daniel, our waiter, was fantastic. He made our dining experience that much better by making sure we were always satisfied. I’ll be back again for sure.

I've had Korean BBQ a couple times years before, but I wasn't that big of a fan, but I think my picky palette has changed since, so I ended up really enjoying the food here. The meat itself, I would give 5 stars. However, as others have stated, the place isn't well ventilated. You can visually see the smoke that has built up over the night, we had to ask for more napkins 3 times from different hosts before ever getting any, and I also found it fishy how they wanted you to pay as soon as they brought the bill. I mentioned it when we got in the car, but my family dismissed it as them wanting to free up our table as soon as possible for other guests, but after reading the negative comments here, it's good to know I'm not the only one who thought it was weird. All in all, I would come back for the food, but because of the price, it really is a special occasion kind of place.

Chako is such an delicious place to eat! It's great for large groups and small ones. They bring you all sorts of tasty foods to bbq right at your own table. The atmosphere here is wonderful. A very social place to gather and enjoy. The service was prompt and very friendly. The restaurant was clean and very well maintained.

We went here for my wife's birthday and were treated great. The food is delicious and the fact that it's all you can eat makes it even better. I would definitely recommend this place.

I had never done the at-table grill before, so comparison is difficult, but it was a great experience. Service was a bit slow to start, but it was the weekend lunch rush and picked up later in the meal. Food wise, I tried everything, and some things were great (beef, pork, short rib), and some were not. Both seafood options were tough to cook, and while my companion enjoyed the chicken, I couldn't help burning all of mine. I wish there had been more veggie options than peppers and zucchini. Overall, satisfying and fun, but I'll be more selective on future visits.

We were told we had a 20 minute wait, but we had waited 40 mins to get seated. We arrived at 8, seated at 8:40, leaving us with less than an hour and a half for our group of 6. Food quality is great, mandatory 10% tip for the kitchen plus a tip for for the waiter. Tipping 25% total for that was absolutely insane.

The place is a perfect spot for dates and hangout with friends or family. The food is fresh and tasty, with less options at lunch and more at dinner. They have sushi as well. Overall a very good restaurant, if only they have more cold dishes but that's just my opinion.
