This is the place that made the Muffuletta famous. When I first came here many years ago, the shooting was on barrels around the store. Now there's a seating area in the back, which makes it slightly more comfortable. The sandwich is as delicious as ever! It's a great combination of cheese, sausages, seeded bread, and delicious Olive relish.

We loved the muffuletta. (A half was definitely enough for 2 people.) I was also thrilled to find wonderful spice packets at reasonable prices. As a cookbook author, I am always looking for new things to try. :)

Fun deli and grocery, right across from the French Market. Deli is in the back with counter space. Claim is to have invented the muffuletta, an Italian sub, and the secret is their green olive salad they spread on the sandwich. Delicious. The grocery section is well worth taking a look at and if you want to bring back a little of New Orleans with you, the have jars (spicy or regular) of their own Olive Salad at the register.
