Carmelina's

About

Intimate Italian dining in the North End. Large open front overlooking all the action on Hanover St, the main street in the North End. Marble tables, brick walls, large Black and White photos of the family in Sicily. This is truly like taking a trip to an Italian restaurant in a little Italian village. The menu offers a combination of the styles of the Chef / Owner's family, and modern inspiration and applications. We are always striving to keep our food fresh, flavorful and true to our culinary traditions.

Oh they know they are good. They know how their options would make everyone very satisfied. They know that you don't need much to offer the best for your customers. Try it for yourself!

This is a quaint little restaurant with limited seating but worth the wait. I could have easily filled up on fresh bread served with oil and vinegar, and left happy. My favorite item was the shrimp and garlic appetizer, Mom had a lamb dish and really enjoyed it. I had a red sauce pasta with meatball and while the meatballs were moist, tender and delicious, I found the sauce boring. We also each had a glass of wine, the house red and white both were nice accompaniments to our meals. The service was a little standoffish but I felt that may have been the result of us being a couple tourist showing up on a cold & busy night and requiring slightly more attention than they would have liked (asked for ATM, bathroom, food recommendations). I would definitely stop by again if I were the area.

The BEST Italian in a place where great Italian food is everywhere. It's a tiny restaurant, though, so make reservations.
