Service, food and atmosphere is spot-on for a small family-friendly diner. HIGHLY recommend this place! Homemade Cinnamon Roles are a MUST!

The staff works hard, and the food typically comes quick. We get the TexMex which is layered hash browns, scrambled eggs, onions, choice of meat, tortilla, enchilada sauce and a dollop of sour cream. It's fantastic. The coffee is super, and super strong! Prices are market appropriate. They add a surcharge for credit cards, which is posted.

During this stay at home order I am.unable to order online and have called them numerous times. They won't answer their phone. Thankfully I found an even better breakfast spot, Coffee Cup on Randolph. They are a must try. They answer their phone as well.

This place was very busy and not enough wait staff on hand. This is not why I took a star though because that kind of thing happens from time to time and our server apologized for the lack of attention. We had Mexican lunch and the food was blah. Nothing to write home about or go out of the way to get. The chips and salsa was what you would expect from free chips and salsa. The guacamole was good thought, made fresh!

First ever experience with Capitol View Cafe was unlike any other first time at a new place to eat.The wait staff was truly amazing, warm and welcoming. All of the staff were polite and prompt.Now the best part, the food. Hands down, the best food ever. Hot, flavorful and definitely homestyle. Large portions and flat out amazing.Definitely will be returning!!

Great breakfast place, the portions are huge. The food is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A go to for breakfast. There lunch/dinner menu looks delicious.

Always delicious and generously portioned food. During this lockdown I am prioritizing supporting this fine West Side institution and I hope you do the same. Great business and great food.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is amazing (I'd suggest the loaded Belgian waffle. It's a Belgian waffle with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream)If you get a coffee they stop by to refill it when it gets low.The people who work there are also fantastic.

I went here for breakfast on a Sunday. I love the menu and choices. It was what I needed. It was busy inside, but I enjoyed the outdoor seating and soaked in the nice weather. I would go here again.

When trying out any Breakfast place, I order the Eggs Benedict. I find that this is a good judge of their ability to makes a good egg as requested (poached when eating a Benedict) and that hollandaise sauce is a fickle mistress who requires attention and skill. The Classic Benedict was delicious! Perfectly poached eggs atop a thick slice of ham and a buttery, crisp English Muffin. All was smothered in a rich, creamy hollandaise sauce. It was served with a huge side of crispy hash browns. The coffee was hot and the staff were friendly and quick! Can't wait to go back and try out some of their Mexican inspired dishes! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast in a cozy atmosphere!
