Canal Ritz

We decided this weekend to treat ourselves to a take-out dinner. During this pandemic, we have ordered takeout a few times from different restaurants. Our experience at the Canal Ritz far exceeded our expectation of what take out can be. We decided not to pre-order, and looked at the menu at the table they had set up outdoors. Yvette was so pleasant and chatted with us while we waited for our food. The food was prepared as quickly as possible, although it was being prepared freshly. Yvette's delightful banter was incredibly appreciated, and made us feel like we were still getting a true hospitality experience, despite the fact that it was simply takeout. Once we got home, the food did not disappoint. Our meal was impeccably prepared and was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to visit again for takeout and are genuinely looking forward to being able to dine-in once they reopen to patrons in the restaurant or on the patio!Thanks so much for making this experience delightful!

I went to Canal Ritz as a part of a large group, the service was great and speedy and the food tasted very good.

I loved my sandwich. The patio view was hard to beat.

Great location, setting atmosphere and when you combine that with the menu, your evening is sure to be an enjoyable event. With a friendly staff, ample parking, it simply makes choosing your dinning spot very very easy. Check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed

The double espresso (neat) was terrible, even the second time they tried. It tasted like plain coffee, didn't have the creamy texture normally associated with a well made espresso. Food was good, service pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere nice.

We came for a brunch with a big group. The service was fast and efficient, we like the food and drink. Some of us are not eating meat so we were recommended to take salmon instead of ham for the sandwich. They have a good variety of healthy food to choose from .

On a busy evening we were seated and attended to quickly . We had the chilled sweet potato and carrot soup, it was very good. Our entrees were the mushroom stuffed ravioli and the fig tortellini, both were wonderfully prepared and tasted great. For desert we had the Greek yogurt raspberry cheesecake, very tasty and light to finish off an excellent dinner.

We had our reception here September 2019 and dinner was absolutely fantastic! Chris and Yvette were wonderful during the planning process and the staff were able to arrange the upstairs tables and place a few decorations I delivered the day before. Truly appreciate the friendly staff and delicious food. The soup and salmon, especially, was to die for!! I only wish I got the name of the soup so I can attempt to find and make that recipe at home.

The service was impeccable. The food could be of better quality. I ordered the bbq burger and I asked if it would be wrapped in lettuce (I didn't want the buns) and the waitress said yes. That wasn't the case and I wasn't impressed by the plate either. The restaurant itself could be a little bit neater. I could see spider webs on the little chandeliers.The view is amazing!!! I think a lot of people go there just for the view.

My man brought me there a few years ago. The food and service were both excellent. We sat on the patio on a beautiful summer day. Nice atmosphere. We had salmon for lunch. A great experience.

Had a fantastic lunch on the patio. Great view and pleasant atmosphere. Our server, Rebecca, was extremely knowledgeable and made our experience truly delightful. So many specials to choose from and great portion sizes. Will be back for sure.

The Canal Ritz organized my husband’s Celebration of Life.Manager Christopher Burke and his staff did an outstanding job.The prior communications for the event were friendly and easy going.The venue set up was well thought out facilitating guests interactions.The teamwork and collaboration of the staff was much appreciated.The high quality of the food was much enjoyed by guests and the initiative approach of making food suited for children added good value to the occasion.Christopher Burke and staff surpassed all our expectations making the Celebration an absolute success.Guests have complimented us saying how much pleasure it was and what an honour to have been part of the event.Sincere thank you to everyone,The Beach family

Very nice location, but service was really bad. No greetings when we arrived. Receptionist just started walking without telling us to follow her at the table. We order a kids meal which includes pop and a dessert, but my daughter wasn’t asked what she wanted to drink. Pasta was very hard. We had to return it because my daughter couldn’t eat it. Server wasn’t smiling and don’t even apologize for the food they had served and that we weren’t happy about it. We were only given ketchup as condiment for our burger and we had to grab it ourselves at the counter. I wouldn’t recommend the place for the bad experience we had.

The Canal Ritz has always been a staple in ottawa. Amazing experience with windows along the canal. We went in the winter so we went for a skate prior and ate by the fire. Food is always on point with an amazing wine selection. Service was amazing and fast. The chicken Parmesan is a must, gluten free ! Can’t wait to head back!
