Caffe Mio

I went here with my best friend yesterday and we were blown away by the quality of the food. We split the Shrimp Diavolo as an appetizer and it was delicious (see photos), and our main plates were the Linguine Con Funghi and Penne Roberto, which I substituted the penne for linguini at no extra charge. I'm a huge foodie and both plates of pasta were among the best I've had in Ottawa. This place is a little on the pricier side but you pay for quality and an obviously experienced chef preparing your meal. Interesting fun fact: the waiter told us that the restaurant's building is over 100 years old!

The wine list was incorrect (a lesser vintage was actually available) and the menu hadn’t been updated to reflect a change. There were too many menu items with goat cheese, which is not red wine friendly, and the polenta was... umm... atypical. Acceptable service but, on balance, it was not a memorable evening.

Exceptionally quaint gem on Wellington. Food is superb and decently priced. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back many more times.

Have been here 3 times now. 2 for lunch and once for dinner. Each time was delicious!

It was pretty good italian food. Good service, good wine, not to pricey. A solid option. Calamari was good but a tad over battered. My pasta was yummy and garlicy.

We decided to pop in to Cafe Mio after a business meeting on a Thursday night. Really glad we did. Although we didn't have reservations we were able to get a nice table despite an almost full restaurant. The food was exceptionally good. They had a nice wine list and our server was attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. I can recommend this place without hesitation and will consider returning again next time I'm in Ottawa.

The meals for our large group were delivered almost all at the same time, hot, fresh tasting, good quality. Homemade taste, nice change.

Wonderful staff and atmosphere! Of course the food is tasty as well.
