Food is usually pretty good. BUT DO NOT BUY GIFT CERTIFICATES THERE! THEIR GIFT CARDS are in paper and are pre-made at $12.00 (used to be $10.00). Their hot meals are 10.79 tax included and YOU DON"T GET YOUR CHANGE BACK. THEIR GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE A SCAM! I

Nice little family run cafe in downtown Ottawa. Came here to grab a smoked salmon sandwich and noticed that they also offer a shrimp and avocado sandwich. I was not disappointed-the shrimp mixed with a light mayo dressing complimented the creamy avocado and crunchy whole wheat toast perfectly. I was however slightly disappointed by their prices.Their breakfast offerings (BLT and egg sandwiches-I have tried the classic ham sandwich without egg and it was amazing) are under 5$ but a regular shrimp or salmon sandwich comes out to over 8$ with tax. I think they'd win more customers by making the price more in line with similar offerings nearby, since the food is so delicious.

Food is awesome here, but very disappointed today to have the staff scrambling to fill a catering order of 15-20 pizzas while a lineup of angry customers was standing there waiting for their orders. 25 minutes to get your order at lunch time is not acceptable... I could have gotten my food faster at a sit down restaurant.

Le Monde just moved to their new location in November and it is so cute and modern! I love that it is a family run restaurant.Their breakfast is extremely well priced and everything tastes so fresh. I also love that they have options for grab and go foods in case I am in a hurry! I must say though, my favourite is their personal pizzas and their new Porchetta sandwich...both are so delicious! This little restaurant is definetly one of my new favourite places Ottawa.
