Cafe La Trova

My son and I came for brunch on a Sunday morning just as the place was opening. We had made reservations but really it was clear there was no need. The place was empty. It made me a little nervous 😬. Once I approached the buffet I quickly realized I should have no worries. Everything on the buffet line was beautifully prepared and absolutely everything we tried was delicious. Every piece of fruit was ripe. The three kinds of empanadas were warm, flaky and fresh. The ceviche was also so fresh and delicious. Our entrees were plentiful in portion size and the desserts at the end of the buffet were all flavorful without being overly sweet (our favorite was the bread pudding). All was accompanied by a cocktail from the bar. The live music started at noon and that just added to our enjoyment of this sweet little restaurant. The worst I can say about it is that it is definitely a little pricey ($55pp for the brunch buffet). But for a special occasion or celebration it is sure to please.

Oh this place was delicious! Everything from the drinks to the skirt steak ropa vieja was amazing. The only thing that was underwhelming was the size of the croquetas (a third the size of a typical one) but they were still tasty. Really friendly staff, too.

It's a wonderful place with great and sweet service from the girls, excellent empanadas and croquetas, it is a big fiesta all the time. Sadly the main courses are bland, fine products but bland. We will comeback again because it's fun all the time but only tapas.

The drinks were delicious! There was a live band and the vibe was awesome! Would definitely come back again. This was exactly what we were looking for!

Stylish, softly lit Cuban ambience, live salsa band played for diners and people at the large bar on a Thursday night with bar staff joining in. Sit tucked in the corner of the bar and take it all in with a cafecito and chocolate bitter blended La Trova old fashioned... 👌

Good for groups, live music, and great food. Interesting cocktails, I enjoyed their old fashion with a decent bourbon. My friend had the chancleta, which was colorful, but too sweet for my taste.Food was really good, particularly the short ribs! You have to try them if you ever come. The octopus would have been my favorite, had the ribs not won the night. :)

Excellent execution of traditional fairs done simple. Definately a trendy neighborhood restaurant bar. This restaurant is for the affluent cultured community. You pay for the total experience. Oh... Great Music!

Great Cuban food, and amazing live Latin música. This place is a spectacle to say the least. There’s an 80’s bar in the back but the good stuff is in the front. If you go to eat you will see traditional Cuban food favorites. All the dishes are very tasty too. The drinks are outstanding as well. There’s live music with very few breaks all throughout the night. Go here to have a great time.

This is so far the best restaurant, bar, live music venue in calle 8, food taste great, service is good, ambiance delightful, warm and cozy, fun. I went 3 days on a road becouse it really catch my attention. My friends has the same opinion.

I am very pleased with our experience at Cafe La Trova. Our event was planned about a month in advance. The manager kept in touch and made sure all my questions were answered in a timely manner. The day of our event, we were about ten minutes behind schedule. The restaurant accommodated our delay and the service was excellent. The food presentation was beautiful and did not disappoint in flavors. I personally have an allergy and they made sure my food still looked beautiful and tasted delicious. The ambience was fun but not too crazy. My favorite part was the presentation of desert as the staff came over with sparklers, singing and celebrating my sister. The live band was amazing! We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. Thank you Uliz for the amazing experience.

This place is Great! Me and my husband loved it! The food, drinks, music, and service are all 5 stars! We had the honor of meeting Davide who showed us all the restaurant and took great care of us! We will definitely go back soon! You must try Mojitos and margaritas!

Upscale Cuban food with live entertainment in a location with that urban "vibe". Trendy crowd with travellers and locals. Excellent innovative food with a very friendly and polished waitstaff.

This place is great - try Tommy's margarita with the habanero infused agave.

What a good surprise! This new Cuban fusion restaurant offers a broad range of shareable appetizers with their own unique flavors (from perfectly balanced ham croquettes to refined spinach feta croquettes), followed by a delicate yet flavorful main (chicken and mahi mahi), and a sweet dessert. We ordered the $39/person menu (chef's special) and the portions are generous (I couldn't finish my dessert). The place itself is gorgeous: massive seating area and stage for live music, the restaurant also features two bars. I was impressed.And it was good. 🤤

What a great time! We ate the garbanzo beans, tuna carpaccio, short rib and steamed fish. All four dishes were excellent. The bread pudding for dessert was indulgent and tasty. The daquiri was perfect. The music was great! Such a fun lively atmosphere with couples dancing to the band, and time for conversation between sets!
