Cafe Grumpy

Good coffee, standard variety of drinks and pastries for an artisinal shop. I've been in here a number of times and found the staff to be especially friendly and relaxed. The space is small, but there are always people working at laptops or reading. Super super strong espresso!

Nice enough and good location. Chai latte wasn’t great but some vegan baked goods and the breakfast muffin was great!

I arrived in New York expecting decent coffee, but unfortunately I was met with places like Starbucks that I really thought--that based on their popularity--would be good. But they are really not. I started to spiral into despair thinking that it was all a lie and New York had no good coffee. Enter Cafe grumpy. They win. Bloody marvelous coffee. They saved the day!

Great coffee and a nice space to sit and drink (and eat). Definitely one of the best flat whites in Manhattan.

Stopped in for a cold brew and hot coffee ($9 total) and loved it. Cool place to hang out. The guy working behind the counter was very nice, too.

Very small place for sitdowns but the staff and drinks are superb. The straws are biodegradable!

This is a nice aesthetic place, with friendly staff and quick service. Food and drink quality are decent, although flavor was somewhat lacking. Overall good place; went on a rainy day (around 12) and there were many seating options.

A great little coffee shop with yummy coffee and a few seats inside. They also have really good decaf espresso which can be hard to find.

Great coffee... Very smooth! Close to Times Square. No comfy chairs but plenty of seats around the common table.

I had both latte and matcha latte. Both were delicious with the right amount of silky foam. Our barista was very friendly and he made nice latte art. The place is spacious with 2 communal tables. They sell pastries and cute merchandise with Grumpy face.

I walked in because of the great name for a cafe! They also have standout choices on their seasonal menu. I got the cardamom rose Latte, and it had herbally flowery notes that I really enjoyed. The staff are friendly and smiley and totally not grumpy at all! 😄

Really good espresso drinks, they are absolutely amazing with oat milk!

Staff are really friendly and the coffee and pastries are delicious! Love the name also 😁
