Cant even begin to describe why you NEED to stop by here!! Well worth the drive from either San Antonio or Corpus!! The owner himself is right there chopping up your servings! Definitely a staple in Texas BBQ!!

The brisket was fantastic. As far as sides, the mac and cheese was pretty good but the potato salad could use a complete makeover. Overall, great experience.

really good brisket and sausage. the chicken and all the sides need a lot of work. in fact would have rated it a 4 or 5 star if sides and chicken same calibur as brisket

The Beef Rib was amazing, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is I have to go back and try the rest. After that rib there was no room for anything else. Looks GREAT, smells GREAT!GOOD JOB BUTTER'S BBQ

Service was excellent. Brisket and ribs were great but the star of the show was the smoked barbacoa! Drove here on the way to the coast and will be looking for a reason to head back to Mathis.

The macaroni and cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had. The meats were perfectly smoked and falling off the bone. Beans were great also!
