Butcher and Barrel

We had been meaning to try Butcher and Barrel for forever and finally made it Saturday night with friends. Love Alfio and think he is an amazing chef. Butcher and Barrel did not disappoint. Service was spot on. Gabriella was attentive, made great suggestions and even helped us split entrees so we could try multiple things. My wife and I split the Short Rib Gnocchi and Prime Rib Cannelloni. Both were excellent. The sauces stood out here on both dishes bringing the meat forward in the dish. The Gnocchi has s truffle mushroom sauce that is amazing. The pastas are all house made and the Gnocchi as perfectly made. The Cannelloni had a red sauce that really complimented the baked on cheese and prime rib. Really could not have been happier and will be back soon!

Great server. Expensive good, but not great food. Our friends enjoyed their meals more than we did. The special sea bass was large but only OK, it was served on a tasty potato mash with grilled asparagus. Our malbec blend was a good. The Argentine restaurant in Hyde Park was better.

Traveling to Downtown Cincinnati for business, I was looking for a relatively lighter option that wasn't a massive restaurant chain. I drove by this location twice and decided I would give it a try.The look and feel of the restaurant was great. There was a good ambiance and the decor was clean yet rustic. The restaurant itself was clean and presentable as well. The food was perfect! I ordered the special for the day, scallops and risotto. Both were cooked perfectly and had a very rich taste. As indicated by some of the other reviews, the price is a bit much but it is great quality and a nice experience.

1st time, and it will not be our last. Great food, very nice atmosphere and our waitress Molly was outstanding. Our family of 4 had the Parrillada a 5 different grilled meat experience, well you just have to try it for yourself. Thank you Butcher & Barrel for a great evening out for my family for dinner. 5 stars!

This place is very warm and welcoming. It was quiet when we went but I imagine it gets busy and crowded. We had a quiet, intimate meal at the bar and the food was delicious! The bartender was an excellent server and very helpful with the menu. Absolutely give this place a try if you're in town!
