A great collection of food purveyors... and a clothing store? How long before it becomes an urban mall? Once a Claire's or Hollister opens, it will lose its charm. Guess the landlord needs the rent.

Great food market venue. It’s kinda touristy but worth it. Many good options for breakfast or lunch. Wonderful atmosphere. Don’t miss walking the high line before or after!

Such a fun and exciting place to be. A must visit if you're in the city. We took the subway here and it was just around the corner for the station. Some vendors open way late and the visitors seem to be there at all hours. Plan to hang around here for a couple of hours.

Make it part of your trip! Loads of cool places including mega fresh seafood at great prices! And the best thing....the high line is at the back so once you leave you can go straight onto that.

Great long-standing market in the heart of the West village. Lots of great little shops and restaurants located within a long little interesting maze. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely worth stopping by. There's also some great little souvenir places in here to stop by before leaving the city. Much better items to get than what you can find at the airport.

After the High Line, the next logical stop is Chelsea Market. A lovely collection of stores, restaurants, and fine groceries. It's a very cute space, not too crowded with just enough seating. However, Adam and I visited in February, in the summer I'm sure it must be filled with people. We had a great time and I really recommend stopping here on an empty stomach because the options are endless!

This is a great place to go anytime of the year. The place is indoors. And go with anyone -even if you're alone. There is always something for everyone. The place is always changing and expanding. And you'll learn or find something new every time. Walk the high line afterwards and it'd be an awesome date.

Chelsea market is one of my favorite places. It’s a Different kind of market. It is a small place but includes everything you need, if you want to buy groceries for your home you can find them here. They also sell furniture and home equipment. If you want to buy a gift or flowers this is the place to go. If you want to drink a coffee don’t forget Amy’s bread, one of the best places for coffee and breakfast. It is truly an amazing place.

We came here for the tacos. And they were delightful. We arrived late morning on a Saturday and the lineups for food were not terrible. My only complaint if there's not a lot of spots to actually sit and eat your food. By the time we finished our tacos and had some lovely gelato the place was insane and I was happy to leave.

As some of the other reviews have said, this is a pretty trendy/hip place. This has caused some crowds, and maybe for the prices the go up throughout... BUT... It’s still a fun stop for a good meal from a new place, maybe grab something unique from a local artisan, and people watch. Heatonist in the basement is my favorite shop in the whole place for unique, delicious hot sauces, also really enjoy Package Free shop for some earth conscious products. The mini donut shop caps off a perfect afternoon or evening with a sweet treat. This is a GREAT place to go as part of exploring the meat packing district as a whole, it is not a “destination” type place that I would recommend traveling to JUST do Chelsea Market. But there’s a TON to explore in this neighborhood!

Neat marketplace with a lot of hip places to eat and shop for trinkets. Glad there were 2 levels and that the marketplace was a great place to just walk around if you're trying to kill an hour or two. We met some other University of Houston alumni walking around there too so it's great that this place is bringing national attention, much appreciated place to hang out and eat!

Yes, there are some gift shops but how affordable they are depends how much you are comfortable spending. To me cheap means under $5 bucks. You may be hard pressed to find gifts under $5.

Sorry but just been there and it is closed. It happens to open for business at a later time?
