First time at Brauhaus Schmitz, gr8 German Bier menu, very good schnitzel, mix drinks pricey for shorts.We arrived early lunch ,Bartender Neal [sic] was very good and attentive. Will be back

Great beer selection. We ate an assortment of appetizers. My companions love it especially to watch soccer. Somewhat busy on a week night but great service and able to talk and hear. I found found easy parking but South street-well patrolled by parking authority

Beautiful night of German Christmas Carols and fantastic food. We also had a Christmas tree with actual burning candles. First time I have ever seen this!

This place knows how to treat their customers. Constantly with a helpful attitude. The food is fairly priced, always fresh and neat.

Great service! Bartender went above and beyond to accommodate us. Went on a game night and back bar was closed. He opened it for us and served us while still serving the front bar.

Yesterday was our first time we visited this excellent restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening very much with the generous service, with the exceptional cooking and booze and with the modest price. We will surely come back soon.

Definitely one of the best spots on South St. They have a huge selection of German beers with great food and a unique atmosphere. Their prices are tough to beat with a great happy hour. There’s nothing else quite like it in Philly!

Delicious. Large portions. A bit pricey, but the quality of the food makes it worth it. Good beer selections. Try the pork shank.

The food is amazing... No doubt, I have not had a bad item here yet. The drink menu is emense and I highly recommend taking time to look through it. Schnapps are unique, wines are wonderful and the brandy is powerful. If you have room... Desserts are a must also.

Good German-style food. From the three dishes we had probably the sausages were the best pick.

Was in Philly for a concert at Christmas time and recognized the name from an ad on the radio so I decided to stop in for a "beer" but ordered food too. The quality of service, food, drink, and price; insures I'll make them a regular stop when I'm in the area.

Went here the day after the Army-Navy game 2019. Having spent three years in Germany and craving authentic German food ever since, I was delighted to find this place, and it was terrific!
