Bopomofo Cafe

Been wanting to visit this spot ever since I heard about it. Also, definitely a fan of Phil, so we had to go there and make sure we support. Fortunately, we ran into him and with the level of service and good food, definitely worth the trip and could see myself being a regular if we lived here.

Place look really upscale and staffs are really friendly. Highly recommend :). I got the watermelon oat milk and totally in love with it.

Bopomofo!!!!So good!!!!!!The Asian American fusion is a hit !! In this area were food concepts are popping up left and right. The wangs got this down!!!The chicken sandwich and totes with mapo tofu is Well made and presented well.The teas and drink complement the food very well.Whether you want a quick bite or want to just hangout with folks this is the new place in the SGV that’s in and won’t disappoint.

Stopped by and picked up a jasmine milk tea with 100 percent sugar, loved it! You can actually taste the tea and real milk with just the right amount of ice. Bonus points to Bopomofo for using bamboo straws. Would definitely get boba here again.

Their classic teas, jasmine milk tea was just as great as some of the premium signature drinks. Tried the Carrot Match Latte which was nice and the Taro Sweet Milk that was refreshing. The Mapo Tots are great to try along with their Taiwanese Fried Chicken which you can order spicy or non spicy. Both are a must try just depending if you are into spicy food. It's not extremely spicy but it's got a kick to it. We also got the Chuncky Lu Ruo Rice, which was nice with tender meat. The sauce was not overly drowning and salty. Parking is sometimes a problem depending on the time you decide to come. The service was quick with getting our order and serving our food. We were lined up pass the front door and out but waited like 20 minutes to order food and got our food and drinks within 5 to 10 minutes.

I was on vacation in LA and came to Bopomofo twice. I had a good experience both times.Pros: The staff is very friendly and gives great service. They did a great job hiring. The food was good, and they give you a pretty good amount! We even had leftovers which were good even the next day. Cons: the parking in the lot can be tough depending on how busy it is. We didn't have too much trouble parking, but it can be busy. The food and drinks are pricey, but I don't regret spending it. Just know that you will spend more than your typical boba place. We had the Mapo tots, Lu Ru Nachos, Shrimp burger, and Taiwanese fried chicken sandwich. We even got to meet Phil and Taylor was even there. Really fun experience meeting them in person. They were just really nice people. Happy to support Phil and his cafe. Thanks for having us all the way from New Jersey.

Their seasonal watermelon oat milk tasted just like what you’d expect—watermelon and oat milk. And I’d say that’s pretty good. For me, I was happy to have it, because I’m often on the lookout for milk tea alternatives that won’t keep me up at night because of the caffeine. Would be curious to try other stuff on the menu. Also have to say, their bathroom smells so good. What do ya’ll use?!

Finally was able to visit this place. I must say I am not disappointed. The drinks were fresh and perfect balance of sweetness. The food taste was flavorful. Must have the Taiwanese chicken sandwich! The service was quick in a timely manner. Menu was simple and not complicated at all! Overall appearance of the Cafe is very clean and modern like. Great vibes!

Tried the Orange Wang drink here which had a pleasant and straightforward taste. The flavor was somewhere between orange creamsicle and those Yakult drinks. I also tried a bit of the strawberry basil lemonade which wasn't really to my liking but my friends loved it. While I didn't try any of the food, I have heard good things about it from others and the pictures I've seen certainly look appetizing. Service was definitely a plus as well. I'd recommend this place for those looking for both a quick bite and boba. However for drinks alone I do feel there are stronger options in the area.

Been anticipating the visit here. The milk tea definitely not as sweet as usual. Might have to ask for more next time. The mapo tofu was really good. Only disappointing thing was Phil wasn't there. :(

I am very proud of the younger generation to have creative ways to promote Taiwanese food! The taste is great, authentic and crowded! Way to go!

Quality of the drinks and boba are great. I haven't tried their coffee yet but everyone seemed very satisfied with it.Their parking situation is a bit tight since they share the lot with other businesses but with a little patience you'll get a spot without much hassle. During peak hours, it can get really busy with a line out the door but even then I never waited more than 15-20 minutes to get my drink.The only downside is that they are a bit on the pricey side. I understand that they use high quality ingredients so it's a bit of a trade off. I would say that even with the higher price it's definitely worth a try.

It is decent while I already tried different kinds of food and drinks. Their Kiwi Lemon Green Tea is very good because it isn't tasted very sweet to me. Also, Mapo Tots and Spicy Popcorn Chicken is pretty decent for their big portion as well. Unfortunately, prices for food here is a little bit expensive because it doesn't really very special to me compared to other tea shops. Overall, I believe it is good to have few signature items to let customer enjoy of it. In my opinion, if they have more signature food or drinks in the future that I believe prices would be matter anymore because of their idea.
