Bongos Beachside Bistro

Great place. Multiple bars as well as table seating in the sand. The live music really enjoyable. Between rounds of drinks the bartender changed and the drinks were totaly different. Otherwise we truly enjoyed it.

Great atmosphere! We love ordering appetizers and drinks while listening to the ocean and live music. They have changed their menu from a year ago, but we still found great food there! We ordered the loaded french fries expecting cheese sauce, but it was just shredded cheese on top so it didn't stick to the fries or bacon well. I highly recommend the chips and dip, as well as the chicken club sandwich.

One of my favorite spots. I’m a local ( live in Tampa ) and I live coming here. Food, drinks, live music and ambiance is always on point and it’s a quieter side if the beach vs treasure island and pass a grill. I was dissapointed when I visited in March 2020, given all that is going on with the Conronavirus that there was NOT ONE hand sanitizer bottle on the table Nor did I see any tables being wiped down. The bar is owned by the hotel so should be some practices put in place.

The food was great. The service was good. Delicious pina colada. The best thing about this beach bar was the view though. You can sip a cocktail and watch the sunset over the sea. Beautiful!

Had a very nice dinner, the local catch of the day was Mahi Mahi - had it deliciously served as a sandwich. A great outdoor place to eat, with live music that wasn't grating or too loud.Our server was prompt and polite, had great suggestions for food and drinks. We had a great meal and a great experience.

We love this beach bar, come here even when we do not stay at the Grand Plaza. The food is excellent, everything is fresh, many great choices such as fish tacos or tuna stack. Several draft beer choices, tasty tropical drinks, everything right on the beach. The service is very swift, so you can get a quick bite or stay longer. They have live music most days starting early afternoon. Highly recommend!

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Awful experience. Very much a tourist trap. Staff was rude and miserable. Drinks and food overpriced and left much to be desired. Was told to get up from a table when there were 6 open tables only to have the hostess who didn’t speak English try to seat us immediately after. The wait staff seem overworked and sedated.

Vanessa is the best bartender... She will make sure your experience is grand..
