One of the best stations I have ever been to. Many good restaurants and cafes to have your break at after travelling and maybe to stop by to buy some food and drinks before travelling (this is very important since usually they donâ€™t serve any on trains of buses). Make sure you take a hot drink with you in winter and cover it very well. You can find DC Metro Red line downstairs inside the station. Additionally, thereâ€™s Shake Shack, Chick-fila, Blue Bottle cafe and TUMI for bags and luggage (itâ€™s a bit expensive), and many places. Also, be aware and careful that most shops close by 9pm. Be there before your travel at least by 40-50mins so you can have some time to buy some things and get on your way comfortably.

We went during Christmas break and it was beautifully decorated. It's a different type of station where do many famous stores are there. So many good restaurants are there.

Yes hun, they will help you. There is a help center there and depending on how long the layover is , you can take a stroll around DC and they have a lot of stuff you can do, a big food court amd plenty of little stores and coffee shops and bathrooms as well. Before you get off the train ask one of the ppl there and they can direct you where ever you need to go. Safe travels!

No, there's a very limited schedule you should check before you go.

I'm not sure if there is a parking lot. However, to pick up someone you can drive to the front or sides of the building depending on where they are standing to get picked. There are side entrances to the station too so be sure to get clarity prior to picking up anyone.

Amtrak goes directly to BWI and the MARCs trains go to BWI as well. Take a regional Amtrak train from Union Station to BWI and trip is about 25 minutes. The first stop is New Carrollton and the stop after is BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport
