Bobby Van's Steakhouse - 50th Street

The service was absolutely amazing. My party and I saw many dishes being walked by, and there was not one I wouldn’t eat. The food was delicious and very filling with huge portions. (You really get a “bang for your buck.”) The dessert was impeccable! My party and I had the “Banana Split for Two,” and it fed our table of four. You could split it up to what I would say six or seven people. I had gotten a Coke, and they brought a cup of ice, and a mini Coke bottle. It is the little things that count, such as being able to do a simple job like pouring your own soda, and putting on your own Parmesan cheese. I would highly recommend Bobby Van’s. I am from out of town, and I plan on coming here every visit to New York.

Good food. Below average whisky list. Terrible price transparency. But...good steak not the best but above average. Wine list needs work too. Keep chef and fire beverage director.

Food was great and a few of the servers that wasn't my server were nice, but the overall experience left me and my family feeling okay at the end of the meal even though the price should have left us feeling the opposite. This is a beautiful building inside and would look amazing during the holidays. We did not come in super late where they were closing up, it was 9:30pm. So it was not super busy and other tables were served and greeted in a timely fashion compared to us to add to the night. To the few that were nice enough to check on us and the cooks major props, but to our server I hope it was just not your night and it eventually got better for you. I honestly wish anyone else a great experience here it seems like it would be fantastic, but I do not feel that we will be back to visit if we come to Manhattan again.
