Really good Laksa and Roti Canai. Laksacould be a bit bigger tho. The people that work here are very friendly, it is a good atmosphere. Will be back next time I'm in Van

Perfect hole in the wall restaurant. I'm glad my friend took me here! Try their Laksa!

First rate Burmese and Malaysian eats in a funky 50s style diner. It's weird, but fun. The service is super friendly and, although I came for the Laksa, which is top notch, I ended up getting an education in Burmese cuisine, which is very different and quite delicious. I thoroughly recommend it if you are in the neighbourhood.

It is really difficult to find good laksa and roti canai (flaky, fluffy Malaysian-Indian pastry/flatbread) in North America. This place has both! The setting is nothing fancy, and execution can be a bit variable (sometimes the roti can be a bit on the oily side) but, regardless, this is by far the best place to get authentic, tasty Malaysian and Burmese cuisine in Western Canada. They also have a special Burmese tea leaf salad that is really unique. Everything I've tried here has been great, but the laksa and roti steal the show!

This place is my preferred one. I go to many restaurants but here I constantly return again and again. The crew is very chummy and the food they cook is so fresh and tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice meal in this place. I highly recommend this place.

Located in a small space on hastings but very visible due to their brightly colored sign out front. Park on the street or just inside the neighborhood and its a short walk to the storefront. A small dining room with staff that move quickly to get everyone in, fed, happy, then out. Great for a quick meal with traditional flavours.

Ordered Roti Canai - Too thick, and way too oily, though the curry served with it was okay. Spring Rolls - no flavour to the meat, though nice wrapping and crispness. Char Kway Teow - good portion, but bland and no flavour to the noodles, meat or seafood; simple seasoning could help elevate this dish. Laksa - flavour of the broth was really good, similar to what I've eaten in KL, but I found the dish to not have enough noodles, because they stuffed it with sprouts, and full slices of onions; also, the chicken and shrimp had no flavour.

Laksa and roti were delicious. The roti was crisp and the curry sauce had a solid blend of spices. Seating area was clean, service was prompt and prices were on par with other eateries os similar cuisine. Cash or debit only.

I get to eat here a lot since I work nearby. I must say their service is always excellent and they keep the spot well organized at all times. Rates are fair and they serve big portions.

My dining experience at laksa king was of of the finest in recent memory. The beef randang and laksa were delicious, authentic and fresh. I've traveled extensively in Myanmar and Malaysia and the roti at lake king is the best I have had outside of Southeast Asia. To top it off, the service was prompt and friendly in a way that made me feel like a guest in someone's home. The decore...well, you just have to see it to believe it. Amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you!

Laksa is creamy to the right amount and is very filling. I love the variety of toppings (none of which are unhealthy): tofu, bean sprouts, prawns, chicken, and fish cakes. Like another reviewer said, the soup’s not grainy. The meat and fish cakes were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got Tom Kha and we traded bowls halfway to just try one another’s. I ended up liking mine more than his and he liked his more, so we traded bowls again! 😂 I would love to come back to order Pad Thai.

Amazing service. The waiter ran us down a block away to return something we left on the table. Oh, and the laksa was delicious too. Naan bread was great, curry had just a hint of coconut, just how I like it.
