Blue Plate Cafe

This is the must visit diner for breakfast in Huntsville. It is rare that I come across such amazing food service and ambiance. When I think and picture diner this is now what will come to mind. Our server, Jordan, was funny, polite, accommodating, and quick with service. I plan on eating here every time I visit Huntsville from now on!

They have the rarest thing a restuarant can have-> Good Coleslaw and Mashed potatoes that have flavor! The fried chicken is delicious and the prices are great. My husband and I ate for $29.17. His plate had a fried chicken breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, and baked beans. My plate was fried catfish, coleslaw, and really good fries. Both plates came with dessert, strawberry shortcake. The service was fast and polite. The restuarant was clean. We will be going back very soon. Blue Plate Cafe is the best!I stopped by here with my family to get some breakfast. We were greated and sat right away. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The owner should be so proud he has such a great staff.I ordered coffee and OJ, both delicious. Then for breakfast, eggs, country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, with cheesy Browns. It was delicious! The rest of my family enjoyed their meals as well.We all agreed that we would come back again next week.

Ate lunch there on a Wednesday. I chose chicken fried steak, corn, green beans, and hash brown casserole, with a roll. All was excellent. Son had the double grill cheese with bacon and comes with fries. Got there at 1:00. Was seated immediately. I had expected a wait, really surprised, but happy. Wheelchair up ramp always works out okay. Was seated 1/2 way in near front, I feel like I am not blocking a major route of travel. Service always is excellent. Did not have to ask for cola refills. My family will be back. I really need to get there for breakfast ! ! !

This special place of breakfast sweetness is a must! If you’re passing through or visiting the area this place is the epitome of southern charm dashed with local spice! You never know who might be grabbing their morning coffee either - it’s quite the place for politicians both local and from afar to frequent! The pancakes are to die for, biscuits are as big as a barn, and the coffee runneth over!

First experience with blue plate was great! Friendly staff and fast service! The food itself was classic meat and 3 with good variety of sides and entrees for each day of the week.I look forward to my next meal there!

Great spot! I'm visiting town and found this place by looking up the reviews. I was not disappointed. The big blue breakfast was a good choice!

The food was wonderful, the service was great and the restaurant was very clean. I had a bowl of chicken vegetable soup and a fruit plate that I shared with my daughter. She had a BLT with Steak Fries and we both had sweet tea. I took a picture of our food since we didn't have the regular meat and vegetables that most people get. If you are ever at Blue Plate and at check out they have blueberry muffins for sale, I highly recommend them! They are baked fresh daily!

The service was very nice. I had breakfast and it was prepared as ordered. The restaurant was clean. I would highly recommend for breakfast.

I went for a lunch plate of fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and a dessert. The chicken had no flavor and was kind of slimy. The green beans were salty and the mashed potatoes were good and hot. I ordered a side salad and it came jam packed in a bowl. Couldn't eat it without half of it falling on the "clean" tablecloth. The dessert was cake with defrosted old strawberries and juice making it a cake soup. The total with a drink came to 18.00. The breakfast is amazing but the lunch/dinner was very sad. I think they could do better.

I ate the most delicous pancakes. They had nuts and bananas mixed in the batter. I have only had breakfast there but hope to eat lunch sometime soon. It is good southern cooking!!!

Classic southern style diner, with food selections rotating by the day of the week. Good food! Very busy! Was a nice stop during our trip.
