Black Bear Diner

Our family was very hungry after all day of visiting Provo. Service was great, food was so delicious. The environment was very family friendly. Looking forward to coming back. Thanks!!!

I hope you have a few hours to spare.. it takes half the day just to get a bite to eat. I mean if it's a holiday or a Saturday morning I get it. And I'm not one of those people showing up during peak hours surprised to find a 45 minute wait.(45 minutes is generous) It's one thing to be slow but they brought me my drinks and coffee, cream, and sugar, with no silverware, napkins or straws. And on the rare occasion somebody brings you anything they run away from the table as fast as they can before you can ask them for anything. I then finally got my pancakes with no syrup or butter. I ordered hash browns with cheese and bacon and they came without it. God this place sucks.

What a fantastic restaurant!!! This was my second time coming and it was just as good, if not better the second time! Really friendly staff, so accommodating! I am gluten-free and they do have some options available! Just ask the staff, they typically know what food can be made gluten free! Delicious and good service! Best part of the night was their concern over a prime rib that was a little undercooked—the waitress and kitchen manager came out to see what they could do to help and offered free sides! Quick and efficient! Alexis was the manager and he was so great! Would highly recommend to anyone, they have a variety of options and wonderful service!!! I will definitely be coming back!

All the other restaurants had crazy waits in a Friday night and they got us in pretty quickly. All the food was great and they're portion sizes are always huge. The staff was extra friendly. Good night

This place is great. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. I love their dinner menu and I haven’t been disappointed with anything from it yet! I recently got their cinnamon roll French toast and it tasted wonderful! I also like their biscuits. They can get busy but they don’t leave you waiting too long and can get you seated fairly quick. Definitely would recommend.

It is as charmingly nice as you might hope. No complaints. Food is about $10-15 per plate and you get a lot. Staff are nice. Food is good for pricing. Restaurant is typically peaceful.

The food is amazing for breakfast, I've never had dinner here so I can't comment on that. But the bacon is thick, the eggs benedict are amazing and the service never disappoints. One of our favorite places to eat. The decor is cozy. You won't have any trouble parking but it can get crazy in the morning, especially on Saturdays.

My wife had the hobo omelette and she said it was great. I had biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs over easy, the gravy was great, even got extra, the biscuits tops were a little hard but good. Our waitress was great.

This was the perfect place to go with my sister and brothers to catch up and talk old times. The waitress was super friendly, talkative and helpful and they let us stay late as we just talked the evening away. The restaurant feel is of course homey and country which nailed it for us tonight.

If you are looking for big portions then this is a great place. If you want something unique this isn't the place. This is home cooking stuff. It is good but my mom's is better.

Had a great experience at the diner. Food is of great quality and quantity. Prices are very accessible and they offer a wide variety of foods to eat. What I've eaten tastes very fresh and natural, so that is always a plus. Only down side is that the waiters were not around very much, but overall great experience!

I love the breakfast foods at Black Bear Diner (especially the pancakes!) and I never branch out of the breakfast foods. When I want an American breakfast, I'd rather come here than anywhere else. The Volcano is my favorite! Not to mention, their freshly squeezed Orange Juice is to die for and it's definitely fresh! I always leave feeling satisfied and happy. I've heard their other menu items (besides their breakfasts) aren't nearly as good, but I've never tried them myself. I do think it's a bit odd that they put a lettuce leaf and an orange slice on every plate, regardless of what it is, but it also doesn't hurt my experience. The only reason why I put 4 stars instead of 5 is because the last few times I've gone, it's taken a long time to get food out and they've messed up my orders (or orders of other people I'm with). With that being said, they're always apologetic if they do and go out of their way to make it right. I love Black Bear.

We love Black Bear Diner!! I got the Bear Claw French toast, which is essentially where they take a decadent pastry and then make it into french toast. What's not to like, right?? Haha. Also got a side of hash browns. My wife got the Bear's Choice. I've loved everything I've eaten here. My favorites are their savory items - chicken fried steak; eggs benedict; corned beef hash; biscuits and gravy. You can't go wrong with any of those. Portion sizes are awesome, and price isn't bad. Highly recommend!!! I've been to several of their locations, and all are great.

Food is always delivered quickly and the service is always friendly. The portions are also big which makes their reasonable prices that much better! Burgers and French toast are the way to go!Great for a fun date, dinner with the kids, or just a quick bite by yourself!

Especially when trying to encourage customers to visit your establishment through Social Distancing, you need to make sure your food is OUTSTANDING, not just passable. My eggs were crispy on the bottom and the potatoes tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Disappointing. I found it interesting that a tip was assumed and added automatically (I also gave a 20% tip in cash) and the 20% that the restaurant applied was based on the total with tax amount. However. the "server" was helpful and friendly.
