After traveling 200 plus miles to get home. I treated myself to Bert’s BarBQue. Anxious to eat I open up the container and there sat a bone with no meat. Open pit by way of a oven. The meat was tender but the taste was horrible. The sides were good. I called Bert’s to return the meat and was told by the Manager Chance that since I took the meal home there was no refund. Also I should have examine the meat before leaving the building. Yeah! I was going home to eat trusting the 20.00 dinner would be delicious as you advertise. My ribs looked NOTHING like the picture. I am giving one star for the sides. Poor customer service.

Stopped in for dinner. I had the rib tips they were tough. The service was great. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely recommend this place for entertainment. Guess I'll try the fish next time.

Heard about this place on the travel Channel and decided to take a trip down. I guess it's better during summer, because we went during winter. Either way, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food, as my chicken wings had like one bite worth of meat, the mac and cheese was pretty bland and the cornbread was OK I guess.

Great food. I had the rib dinner with mac & cheese and red beans & rice. Everything was tasty. Would definitely return. Not my best "foodie pic" cause I was more focused on sinking my teeth into those ribs ðŸ˜

The atmosphere was nostalgic! Server was very cordial, helpful and accommodating, and the food was AMAZING! There was live music and a beautiful wall display of the Motown music legends! That display of community pride was very uplifting and enough to make this first timer plan a second visit in the very near future.

A Gem, right smack in the city. Definitely proves that music is the gel of man kind. Very diverse crowd. All musicians at any level can perform and everyone excepts their musical abilities. Bill Meyers hosts an Excellent Jam session on Thursday nights. Celebrities pop in as well. i.e. well renown jazz saxophonist "James Carter"

We came for brunch - the food was good. Ribs you should get without the sauce and get the Aretha Franklin "world's best" fried chicken. Soo good!! The place is pretty cute - great menu names and I think evenings would be fun here. Will have to try next time!

I walked in and sat down at the counter thinking we were going to get a drink or something. He paid a cover charge and we stepped into a nightclub with a live band. I noticed a lady sitting by the door, but assumed she was a regular. The four-piece band played for a while, and then the lady at the table (Champagne) got up to sing. She commanded the stage and sang a broad range of songs very well. I'd definitely return, hopefully on a night when she is singing. The band had phenomenal timing to accompany her. They were clearly well-rehearsed.

The people are super nice, beautiful music and dancing. The ribs were TO DIE FOR but everything else was kind of weird. You have to get your drinks super overpriced from the vending machine, and the sides were plain out nasty. The Mac and cheese looked phenomenal so I was excited, but then the flavor was bland and disappointing. Cornbread was extra dry and crumbly. Rice and gravy was disgusting, and the peach cobbler was nasty. It was more like a soggy, cornsyrupy canned peaches pie, and was the most disappointing thing about the meal. But that doesn't mean you should go here! Just be careful with what you order. These were the best ribs I've had in my life, with an amazing tangy barbecue sauce and huge amounts of meat that melted off the bones into your mouth. It was nice to sit and eat and enjoy the music and watch people dance. I'd go back but I'd bring my own drink and just order the ribs.
