Had an awesome time at the bell in hand. Extremely good lobster rolls at reasonable prices, friendly staff and prompt service. Will definitely be coming back.

Favorite place to eat in Boston! The lobster roll (the hot one soaked in butter, not the cold mayo version) is about as good a food item as you can consume as a mortal being. Get it! Don’t like lobster? Don’t care—get it! Fries are seasoned very well, too. The Bell in Hand Tavern Ale is great and in nice 22 oz. pints. Make a special point to get here, but if you walk the Freedom Trail, you automatically pass by anyway, as it’s the “longest continuously operating tavern in America” since 1795.Be aware the decor doesn’t look colonial or particularly old-world, which is really disappointing. It actually looks more like a modern sports bar (which it is), and they play loud music later in the day, but it’s great no matter what their odd updated decor.

Amazing pub vibe. Watched an epl game here. The fish and chips was the freshest I've had in the states(and honestly fresher fish than the fish and chips I had in London). Great selection of beer as well and big space.

Great spot for an afternoon stop. We just had a Sam Adams but could have had a good snack there too. Staff was friendly and it was cool to read about the history of the bar on the back of the menu. We recommend stop by this historical location!

I’ve been here a couple of times and the food was good both times. They’ve always been super friendly and accommodating and there’s plenty of space here. The only slightly negative thing would be the Soda was flat. But I’m not gonna give four stars over a soda. This place is also reasonably priced compared to other places nearby.

This place was great. Wonderful atmosphere. Great staff. I had the warm lobster roll and chowder. Both were wonderful. Great selection of beers on tap including the exclusive San Adams Bell in hand.

The Bell In Hand is one of the oldest, continuously operated, taverns in the US and is a must-see if you are in Boston. The tavern is quite small, but we were able to find seats by the bar. I had a gin and tonic made to perfection!

We sat at the bar for drinks. The crowd was just starting to ramp up. The bartender was killing it! She was in the zone: pouring, serving, cashing, checking, wiping, running, flying... For us it was just fun to be in one of the oldest (the oldest?) bar in Boston.

Although this is obvious tourist stop, the atmosphere and staff made it feel like we were locals. Just like us, many of the folks we're ordering different items to share and our waitress was happy to help accommodate. We shared some local favorites, lobster roll & chowder. They were both very good. Overall, it was a great experience and a nice break on our journey through the Freedom Trail.

I love how friendly everyone has been in Boston. Traveled down from NY for the weekend and had to stop here for a drink. Heard it was great, and it was. Bartender was super friendly too! Made me 2 of her favorite drinks and protected us from some drunk goofball. What a fun time!

Very cool place to visit. The old bones and the updated decor make it an interesting and fun place to get a drink.

Delicious clam chowder perhaps the best in town. Do not recommend the calamari. Good service as well as cold beers.
