Really good cocktails! Even though the bar was crowded it felt cozy and I was able to have a good conversation.

These drinks were spot on. They may cost more than your standard mixed drink, but these are far from standard. The staff were very friendly, and while small, there was plenty of room for our large group to find a spot. I will absolutely go back.

Hemingway’s Daiquiri was absolutely on point and the bartenders were amazing with their recommendations. A summer favorite was the Roman Holiday. I’m from DC so to see a proper cocktail bar with prices like these was amazing. Def recommendation!

Great food and drinks in a nice dark atmosphere. Good salmon dinner. One of the best burgers downtown. Glad they're open for lunch now too!

The cocktails are delicious, interesting, and amazing to witness being made. The bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable without being snobby. They are very welcoming and amazingly patient considering how busy they are. I've been to many bars where the bartenders are only slinging cans of beer who acted like asking a question was a huge waste if their time, but Bar Virgile will help you figure out what you want and make it with care and flair. Great experience.

Food was great and so were the prices.The waiter was pretty bland, but the food made up for him.

When I say this place is amazing, please understand I don't say that lightly. The drinks are top notch and the bar staff is excellent and attentive. The food? I legitimately asked our server, Why is the food on this area so amazing, because this has just added to the trend of awesome food. The service from the wait staff is top tier, even when they're fully seated and have a wait list. If you're on the fence about coming here, I'll help you make that decision: do it. Even if you're having a hen night or something, just ordering some cocktails, or you're on your third date, do it. Come here.Pro tip: they box your leftovers for you.

We went on a Thursday evening for drinks and dinner before a show at DPAC. The restaurant is cozy while eclectic and vibrant. Walking in we were greeted by the bartender and server. Both were polite and inviting. We were quickly seated. The restaurant is well decorated but the bar is definitely the focal point you have to see for yourself. We ordered our drinks and appetizer which both came out very quickly. The Negroni was well made and delightful. The Mac n cheese was hot, cheesy, mouth-wateringly delicious. The main entrées were Cajun Alfredo pasta with shrimp, chicken, and sausage. It was quite a treat for the taste buds. The other entrée was a double cheese burger cooked to medium, juicy perfection paired with the best fries. Bar Virgile was a great way to start the evening. We are definitely coming back with friends.

Really awesome bar with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is always amazing. My favorite food is the Mac and Cheese and the burger, but I’ve never had a bad meal.

Very small high end cocktail bar with excellent food as well located in downtown Durham. While small, it is a very nice, yet relaxed, setting. Food is outstanding and they are now open for lunch too. Great spot for higher end beverages.

Surprisingly (and thankfully) we were able to get a table large enough to accommodate our party of 8 - every employee was super personable and clearly knew what they were doing. Food was amazing - drinks were delicious- highly recommend!

Best craft cocktails I've had in Durham so far (try their gin fizz). Looking forward to going back and trying the food.
