Vegan Mexican food that will give the meat versions a serious run for their money. And PS : I'm not a supporter of vegan so to impress me, this place must really be doing something right :)

Amazing food and great atmosphere. I’m a vegan that loves Mexican style food, but sometimes were limited.... Fear not, Bar Verde offers countless, tasty and very well executed options! Friendly staff and an old school hip-hop soundtrack. What more could you ask for? We’ll be back to try some other dishes and maybe desert next time 😉 @mrlouisdriver

Andrea, our waitress was an absolute pleasure! The vibe is really pleasant and the drinks are on point! My favorite drink was the smoked pineapple mezcal! I'm sure I will return very soon 😊

Food is very good but this place is WAY OVERPRICED for plant based food

The space is too tight. Every table is literally 2 inches from each other to a point where its almost uncomfortable to have a conversation. Service lacked and order was incorrect. Had to ask twice for water refills. Upset all together with the experience.

Amazing Mexican vegan food, I have been to Jajaja as well and this one is 10 times better tbh. The service was amazing and the mezcalito cocktails are extremely recommendable

Very tasty food and nice plates. Great first vegan experience. (With 2 meat eater and 1 vegetarian).Bottomless mimosa is a wonderful thing and doesn’t even have to be mixed ðŸ˜Good service and fair prices. We will go back. Churros were delicious

Bar Verde is one of three plant-based restaurants on this block of 2nd avenue, featuring Mexican-inspired dishes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I came for brunch, and even on a rainy day the tables filled up quickly. The presentation of the dishes is absolutely gorgeous; most plates feature a rainbow of color in a neat and attractive assembly. The food is wonderful! Each dish I tried was full and flavorful. The huevos rancheros and plantain pancakes we're definitely highlights. Portions are huge, so don't over-order!

We were a group of 6. We felt neglected. We had to stop and look out for our server and then wait to wave her down multiple times to order food and drinks. As for tje food I wished the food had more 'wetness' to it. All items felt dry... Less sauces, cremas, etc on all dishes. Maybe ingredients cost a lot on plant based sauces. Dishes tasted alright. The group average was a rating of 4/10.

It’s liberating to come to this restaurant and know you can eat anything. Bonus, it is delicious Mexican food.

I'd like to preface this review by saying that I am a big fan of Matthew Kenney and I've been to his other restaurants a handful of times.I was super excited to try this one because I'm a fan of Mexican food and it's not easy to come by vegan Mexican food in NYC. I think it's really hard to screw up nachos and guacamole, but somehow this restaurant has managed to kill such a simple appetizer. The nachos WILL BREAK YOUR TEETH, I have to give them credit for attempting to make homemade nacho chips, but if you can't do it right--just fry up some store bought tortillas and call it a day.The guacamole was flavorless and watery. We ordered one of each of the tacos on the menu, and nothing left much to be desired. All in all, I think there's a strong focus on atmosphere and plating and carelessness when it comes to flavor. I'm not going back there.

Way better than you think. I got the nachos and classic burrito. Phenomenal. Truly. I’m a meat eater. This was great! I will come back.
