One of my absolute favourites in the neighbourhood - it's really hidden up a set of brownstone steps, like you're going into someone's apartment. A tad pricey, but the food is delicious (particularly the devilled eggs) and the cocktail and wine lists are full of wonderful options. Definitely need to book towards the end of the week, or if you're lucky you can snag a seat at the small bar.

High marks for the exclusivity factor coupled with fantastic classic cocktails. The food wasn't impressive, but the vibe was chill and I'd go back for a drink if I was in Midtown or had an out of town guest. Reservations are a must, they take them one week out, or you can grab a spot at the bar (no standing!)

This gem in Midtown is truly a place to take someone who you want to give a special theater district evening. Book seats or you won't get them, even at the bar. People watching is fun. Food is solid and drinks are great. Service is good but a bit of tude. Just go with it, it's part of the vibe. If you can't get in go downstairs to Joe Allen the sister restaurant.

Upscale bar with great ambience. The decor lends to quiet conversation, and the drinks and food lend to interesting ones.We had traditional gin martinis and they wrote very good. They are served in cute carafes.
