Fantastic sushi, incredibly fresh, and most importantly each roll is a unique combination of ingredients that's atypical of the cookie-cutter rolls found at most sushi spots. The goddess roll featured sour apple and cucumber along with salmon, with a vinegar zing, and was incredibly refreshing and unlike any sushi I've had elsewhere.

The green machine is amazing. Staff is very organized and thoughtful even when it gets busy. Also its paradise for gluten free eaters.

Sushi is great, lovely atmosphere and excellent service. It’s a personal preference but there isn’t a lot of options and there is more of a focus on speciality style sushi. If you want to try something different and nontraditional, this might be a great place to eat. If you like to have a mix between traditional style sushi with something unique - might not be the perfect place to go to.

Great food and ambient atmosphere! The service is really good. Slightly more expensive but the dishes look fancy.

It's the best place. Period. Always excited to go here. And if you get bored of sushi, try the steak. Pretty near flank steak

Great, fresh sushi that is fairly priced. My only complaint would be that the restaurant can get a bit packed but, that is to be expected if you have good food and service. If I am ever back in Portland I will definitely come back.

The BEST sushi experience I've ever had! This place came recommended by a close friend and they did not disappoint. We decided to sit at the sushi bar and after looking at the menu decided to trust the sushi chef and go with the Omakase. He asked us a few questions on what our food allergies were, what we liked/didn't like and formulated a sushi menu for us. He blew our minds! The quality of ingredients were amazing and the sushi and rolls the chef gave us were out of this world. We were so satisfied after coming here. I highly recommend this sushi spot! PS: they don't take cash here, only card. Warning: the foraged seaweed salad can get pretty chewy, but it was tasty and I'm sure super healthy. I don't regret ordering it!

The sushi was great; the venue was clean and comfortable; location is convenient if you are downtown. The owner replied to my rating, asking: "What could have earned the fifth star?" In response, the service was slow to order, slow to get the food, and slow to get our check when we were done. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. We've been here multiple times. And we plan to return again. -SKH

The best sushi in Oregon. I still prefer the atmosphere of the 23rd Street location but the food is just as good on 12th.

Normally I don’t like to pay more than $13 for sushi rolls but this is beyond worth it. Not only is the sushi AMAZING, it is sustainably sourced.Which does mean you won’t find tuna here but it doesn’t feel like you are missing out on anything.Great for a date or special occasion.

The Green Machine roll never fails, a top seller. But everything here is great. My favorite seaweed salad ever-- and a great way to show locally foraged seaweed.

Great fresh fish but personally I feel they manipulate it too much with extra ingredients. I had the nigiri plate and it was beautiful but the trout had a sweetened orange rind and it tastes as if it was coated in marmalade. The scallop had been "torched" which left a distinct taste of butane. I would have preferred they use a much lighter touch and let the flavor of the delicious fish come through. Service was great and friendly.

Great restaurant. Service is a little slow but anything worth something... Is always worth waiting for.

Very sheik, modern and trendy atmosphere. Staff was very kind a through. The food was excellent, the service was fast and the prices were very reasonable. I'd gladly go back again. Great experience.

One word, Fresh. Hands down this is the top three sushi restaurants I have ever been to. The quality of the ingredients is unparalleled. I was with people who consider themselves sushi snobs and we were all in agreement. Bamboo sushi is a must for sushi lovers. Some things to note; The restaurant is small and while a reservation is not necessary it may not hurt to make one. The sushi selection itself seemed small in comparison to other restaurants. Price was more than reasonable for the quality.
