Baja California Cantina and Grill

Stopped in for a drink approximately 17:00 ish on a Saturday. Sat solo at the bar immediately, but seating was readily available for larger parties. Usually, if you put an Old Fashioned or Manhattan on your menu it’s like saying, “No Cap,” meaning you should be ready to produce with confidence. However, the bartender recommended a look at their margaritas that are fresh squeezed (not out of a jug) in cocktail presentation with .... 2oz of Ta-Killa. I got the Paloma, which is blanco jimador grapefruit something and agave. Not sure it was agave or just a pineapple stalk @Rodrigo the bartender. Nonetheless good experience with friendly staff.

This place was really nice. I've been waiting for a good Mexican restaurant in the hoover area and this one definitely takes the prize. Wait Staff was wonderful, food was even better. If I would recommend anything is that the texture of the salsa and the guacamole be a little bit more authentic. They both are very smooth and taste great, but I myself prefer a more chunky version of both. The drinks are great as well. I hope they hang around for a long time. Everyone has been very attentive to our table. Reasonable pricing.

Have been twice since moving to the area. Both times have been great. Food was good and service was good as well. Happy hour margaritas fantastic.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. I love that they have different menu items than other local places.

The food here is amazing. I dont believe that they get the traffic that they deserve. It is tucked in between autozone and the trampoline park.

I have been here numerous times and I can say that Baja California has Fantastic customer service, excellent food, and great drink specials. This is a place that I am more than happy to go out of my way to go eat at.

First time here. Great atmosphere with awesome looking bar. Good food with large portions. Prices are reasonable and feels upscale but casual. We will be back!

Wonderful experience! It is very clean, and lots of tasty, fresh food. The service was fast, and our server was very polite and professional. We liked the decor: stone finishes and pretty paintings. My young son really liked the wall-sized whale painting. We have found our new go-to place!

Decided to try out Baja Cali for the first time. It is in the old Iron Horse Cafe space in Hoover. The interior is really nice and service was excellent. The food ranks up there with any other Mexican food in Birmingham. I may have found my new favorite place to eat mexicano food. Will try again soon !
