I'm having jerk chicken (comes dark) Yummy. A bit of spice (leave you lips tingling) such great savory flavor and very authentic. The staff will not baby you so if looking for TLC maybe go another place. The rice and beans are excellent and plantains sweet and fixed just right. Carmel crisp and delicious 😋

A top, quick spot for homestyle Caribbean cuisine. I definitely did not expect to find a place like this in this area of SJ but was so glad to be introduced by some friends. The space is themed just as you would imagine and it creates a feeling of home. It can accomodate a lot of groups but isn't the largest space. Nonetheless, ordering is easy (they have the great idea of separating the line from take out and eating in) and the wait was not long at all during a busy lunch rush. The yard bowl was just what I was looking for - a dish that wasn't too heavy but had a mix of different things like rice, greens, and your choice of protein. The portions were actually much larger than expected (especially for the generous pricing) and the flavors were on point.

The place serves large portions and for reasonable pricing. very nice owner. I recommend this place.

Have been going here for a couple of years .they make absolute amazing food . They serve the best oxtail and that Single handedly got me back each time ..I've tried their chicken dishes as well and it's decent . The price by itself is a little steep at about $32 for two dishes which includes taxesParking is easy with roadside or the parking lot on the opposite side of the street.

This restaurant offers excellent service and delightful menu. One of my favourite restaurants around here. The meals served quick and the prices are affordable. Recommended.

Wow!!! A little bit of Jamaica right in San Jose! Everything looked and smelled fantastic! We went for the ox tail and jerk chicken combo, the Wednesday special slow cooked brown stew chicken and the curried goat dinners. Each came with rice and beans and plantains. For drinks we had Ting and Red Stripe!! Delicious!!!! If we closed our eyes it felt like we were on the island! We ate it so fast, we forgot to take photos.....

Horrible service I could not hear the cashier because of the loud music and the guys voice was not clear. Rice and beans were too sweet. I asked for a light dreessing for my side salad and they only had ranch. Finally I asked the lady food runner if I could have a container to go and she told me that I had to pick it up my self in a rude way. I will never be back here

We came as a large group unannounced. They shuffled tables and graciously fit us in. We ate family style so we got to try a large number of items from the menu. Best meal I’ve had in recent memory!

Nice vegan options in the coconut curry w/carrots rice and plantains. The plantains are the star. The jerk chicken looked immaculate but I can't dabble.

Loved this spot, the foods great and was shocked to see that they had vegan tasty options.

At the moment you arrive in this restaurant the waiters give you an agreeable feeling. Very courteous crew, it is a friendly place to hang out with friends and colleagues or with your date. tasty food, talented chief cook and stuff, reasonable cost and courteous service. Highly recommended.

Yes Mon! This place has great atmosphere. The reggae is loud and the sound of conversation fills the space. The menu is authentic Jamaican cuisine done right. I got the oxtail and curry chicken and was not disappointed. They had a good selection of beverages and I got the ginger beer. I will definitely go back to this establishment when I am in the San Jose area

Had the Yard combo with chicken and salmon. Salmon was juicy and not dry. Chicken was also juicy. The flavor was a different flavor that I am used to, and that was a good thing, considering all the same old boring flavors I eat. The rice was also a tasty flavor that was really delicious. Plantains were a good complement to the meal. Finally, the hot sauce was awesome too. Highly recommend this place.
