From out of town and the first Brewery we went to in Beer City- Grand Rapids. My fiancé and I split the Chicken and Waffles and it was plenty for us. She claims it was “the best waffle she’s ever had” and she’s from the south. The bourbon syrup was cooked perfectly into the batter with a perfect balance of firm outside soft inside. For the beer it was happy hour knocking two bucks off and a dollar was donated to Parkinson’s research. $4 is cheap for draft at a brewery. I went with Janky Brain to be adventurous. A blonde ale with coffee infused. It was a great tasting ale with an after taste of coffee. Brilliant. If you’re near Atwater, it’s definitely worth trying.

While visiting from out of town, my better half and I found out one of our favorite breweries is here! It was incredibly busy due to a show going on that day, but Ryan and the team took incredible care of us. They absolutely were laboring harder than any worker I've seen in years. I had the best brat I've ever had, and the beers were farm fresh. I cannot speak of this place highly enough, and if I'm ever so lucky to be in this area again, this excellent will get my business.

Whoever runs this place knows what they are doing!....It is consitantly clean and the staff is always friendly and efficient. Whenever we are there Sean makes sure to stop at our table to see how we are doing....beyond the service, I tried thier pizza today...YES PIZZA at Atwater...it was AMAZING. They us the kind of pepperonis that curl up and get crispy, with a homemade authentic marinara sauce, all cook in an oven that chars the crust perfectly!!!! We will definitely be back🍻

Like a middle class restaurant but with better alcohol selections. Very chill atmosphere. Love it.

Very lackluster experience. The food comes in very manageable portions, which is great, but the prices don't match. The prices are what you would expect as slightly on the high side for a normal portion. The food was fairly tasty however and the staff friendly. But overall it was kind of a joke, 10$ for a single brat cut in half and served as 2 brats, no side of chips, or fries, or anything. I will most probably not be visiting here again unless I'm going for just drinks. Which probably still wont happen as there are so many option in GR that provide a larger selection at a better price and also have good food priced right.

Wide variety of beers and drinks for everyone. A nice variety on the menu as well including delicious and unique vegan options! We went with the buffalo cauliflower wings and the vegan brat (topped with vegan nacho cheese, coleslaw, on a pretzel bun). Our server Ryan was very nice and attentive for our big group! Chill atmosphere.

Ok, the beer isn't great, but it's still better than the BOB. Come here for the stamp and id recommend ordering off the Tier 3 list rather than getting a flight which won't offer much. Great service though.

This was not a good experience or first impression. We aren't acknowledged for the first 10 minutes that we were sitting. The service was very minimal and spotty for the entire experience. The food is good, but it's kind of expensive ($12 for hot dog and fries). Second time and third time back, the service was just as bad. The food is decent, but if you can't deal with terrible service, don't go here.

We sat at the bar and they were very attentive to us. When we ordered a pizza, we had been waiting greater than 20 minutes when the manager admitted they mixed up our order and gave the pizza to someone else. He immediately said a new one was in the works, on them. No questions asked and the pizza was delicious! Class acts here.

In the heart of downtown Grand Rapids along Grand River. As always I did the flight route. Hey Diddle Diddle, Wheat Ale has hints of apricots, blood orange AND rose petals...I’ve never eaten a rose petal to know! Regardless, it’s a good summer drink. The Milkshake IPA was lighter than expected but not a high IBU and very easy on the palette. Their “Off the clock” DIPA was pretty much like most I’ve had. A solid choice. Then the “Ghost of Peridition” a American Barleywine packing a 8.9% ABU! Really a dangerous one and done nicely! Not many places rank well for food and I’m picky when it comes to pizza but I have to say they have one of the best Margarita pizzas I’ve had. Get the thin crust! The manager says the Big Fat Greek is his favorite by far. They make their own buffalo sauce for the buffalo chicken pizza.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and it seemed to be a bit busier than usual (based on comments by the bar staff).Honestly we wouldnt have been able to tell though. Our drinks and food came quickly and were great. No complaints. Great brewery to try with lots of options. We had a flight each (between 2 people) and the bread sticks. We walked from our hotel so no comment on parking.

Stopped in for a drink. I appreciate that they have interesting beers and a gluten free option cider. Service is a challenge. Only gluten free option is pizza. Food menu does not entice us to return for dinner.

Questions & Answers

Yes. There are highchairs available for kids.

Not sure that they take reservations.

Yes they do.

Yep

There is a city lot on the river a block north and another city parking lot west on Michigan under US131, both inexpensive

After 6 street parking is free however just 1 block south on the east side of the street is a public parking garage and has very reasonable rates and has always had good spaces available whenever we've used it. If you haven't been to Atwater Brewery before you're going to love it. And if you have then you already know :)

Best to call

Probably about 20 or so, a good mix of Grand Rapids exclusives and ones from Detroit.

They take reservations, give them a call

Downtown parking on the street is free after 6. DeVoss Place, literally right across the street, has a parking garage as well.
