Phillip Chardon
This is a very well thought through airport. Eventhough, the majority of the staff does not speak english its easy to get around and you never get lost. If you have a late flight you either can go to the building where the trains leave where couches and benches are provided to sleep at the airport. They also hand out blancets to get cosy. I love this idea. Its open from 6pm until 9am.

Regarding the departure area, not so many places to sit. Toilets are not enough for women. Only few restaurants or cafes to kill time or have lunch or dinner. However the roof top terrace is great. Also easy to go to or come from Kyoto by bus. 1 hour /12USD.

Despite its name, the Itami airport is only for domestic flights these days. The airport is very clean and easy to navigate. The staff was very polite and efficient in all points. It has small cafeterias for killing time while waiting your flight.
