We went here for lunch on Christmas since we don't really celebrate, and it was packed! The parking lot was full and there was a line, but there was almost no wait to get seated. we got the buffet and there was a huge selection of all kinds of stuff, plenty for me even as a vegetarian. Good service, great decor, fun and relaxed atmosphere. Will probably make this an annual tradition!

This place was where I always ate when I was in college. They've redecorated the place and it's beautiful. The food is still really good. The whole atmosphere is very serene. Lots of new beautiful art pieces to look at. If I lived closer this would be my go to Chinese restaurant.

The quality of the food has diminished and they no longer offer the hibachi grill option. However, they are an all-you-can-eat buffet and there are plenty of other offerings, including a sushi bar and a wide variety of fruits and deserts. If you are starving and grouchy, you can fill your belly in peace without being bothered by over solicitous wait staff.

Many dinners here have been very good.. The menu is quite extensive.. And their Buffet is probably the best A2/Ypsi has ever had... Or will have. The staff is always nice although they do tend to wander and forget refills and such. Many times have I had to nearly physically STOP my server to get a refill on drink. Depends on the server. Otherwise, no complaints at all!!!

The Dim Sum is great! The fact that a lot of Asians eat here, tells you it must be good. I had a positive personal experience at the restaurant recently. I took some cash out of my pocket for tip after we finished eating. I also had an envelope containing a fairly large amount of cash in my pocket that had fallen out. I didn't notice it missing until around an hour later. I called the restaurant immediately and asked them if someone had found the envelope. They said they hadn't, but recommended I come back up to look in the area I was sitting. While half way there, they called me back telling me they had found the envelope. One of their employees went through their trash and found it. It was wet and didn't smell so great, but I was grateful. Needless to say, they're good people and I will surely be back to eat Dim Sum again soon. Have a blessed day!

Love this place. Especially the buffet, my husband is vegetarian, my son is very picky with his food but we always can find something we like here.

This place slowly became my favorite, but I’m extremely frustrated to go through my transactions to see the waitress tipped herself a extra $5 I did NOT authorize. I left my total to be $33.33 on purpose and I checked my past transactions on my card and I was charged $38.33. I’d recommend to pay with cash only cause that’s absolute bs and I don’t have my signed receipt anymore. It didn’t charge the extra $5 until just today and I went there two days ago. Food is amazing, but apparently somebody sees no wrong in stealing money from customers and I have no idea what her name was so I’m out of luck on getting this fixed. I know it’s just $5, but still it’s the principal of the fact.

We stop at China Palace Restaurant when ever we’re in Ypsilanti visiting friends. It is great for large family or friend gatherings. Some of the larger round tables have the large lazy susans on them for family sharing very reminiscent of the great South Korean restaurants that I have been to. There are so many people there that the food is continually brought out and fresh. Very nice sushi selection as well. Also for those a little timid to try things they do have some traditional chicken and side dishes as well as a large fresh fruit section.

I went to Asia City after a long distance ambulance transfer for supper. This place was amazing! I love Asian food. They had dishes I didn't even knew existed. They also had a fresh sushi bar, and Mongolian style grill. I can hardly wait to go back. Well worth the trip. And the prices were well within my budget.

Good ambience and nice staff, we had buffet dinner that is served until 9:30. If you love sea food, then this is the place. If you go for buffet you do sacrifice a little bit on the taste side but you get to eat as much as you like. The regular order(not buffet) tastes better. On the price end, buffet is $11 or $12, can't remember exactly. Overall experience is good. Buffet also includes sushi, which is very nice. Their buffet chicken, lamb, beef and pork dishes are great too. Caution: If you are not a big fan of sea food, better go for chicken, pork, beef etc. dishes and soups as the sea food here is overwhelming in variety.

China palace is the new name for Asia city. It is pretty much the same. The buffet is good however they changed their Mongolian setup. Relatively cookie cutter Chinese buffet, the prices are a little high in my opinion for dinner but you will be full. Nothing sticks out in my mind as a "blow your mind" dish, but it gets the job done.

When we walked in everything smelled great. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Lots of room too. The food did not taste nearly as great as it smelled. I ordered a sweet iced tea and was given warm tea with about an inch of sugar on the bottom. My son ordered a bubble tea and the first drink he almost spit across the table. We asked for a different drink for him but they still charged for the bubble tea. When I asked about it the manager was very rude. I don’t know that we will come back here again.

Questions & Answers

$10.99 according to their actual menu, pictured here - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/china-palace-ypsilanti-2?select=S8mO6nVJELK5WVwEVbiZyA

It depends, if you order something besides water to drink it is a bit more money. The cost is between $15 and $16.

Best days are Mon-Thurs for lunch buffet, $10 pp can't go wrong ?

Don't believe so, think all they do now is takeouts.
