This was the only place open at the time and My friend and I rolled in around 1am after traveling from Miami to San Fran and decided to cross to Oakland and enjoy this local spot. Food was great.

It has been several years since I dined at Araujo's, South of the Border cuisine.Most of the food was stellar. The pepper beef was too hot for me, but my buddy actually ate my food as well as his, and the platters were ample. He thoroughly enjoyed the dish and it was perfectly spiced for his palate. I ended up having the breakfast special -- 2 eggs, 2 bacon and some of the most delicious French Toast that I have ever put in my mouth. It was a fantastic dish.The restaurant itself was not kept up as well as I remember, hence the rating.The wait staff was wonderful and they make you feel like family.I look forward to revisiting Araujo's in the near future.

The The Horchata was sweet and cold, the salsa fresh and hot and the tamales handmade and tasty! On of the best and most typical mexican food I had in the bay area. Great place!

Service was great, well-humored people running the place when we visited. Very clean dining area and what looks like a good selection of desserts. The menu has plenty of options and there prices and combos seem like they get you a lot of bang for your buck.Minus one star for the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the restroom. The walls and floors are dirty, the mirror needs a wipe down, there are broken wall tiles along the one corner, and the sink and toilet are looking a few shades away from the white they should be.Minus another star for my grande burrito and salsas. Nothing terrible and the tortilla was good, but the the burrito rice and meat tasted plain. Like when someone makes more than one could take their time to prepare and season properly. The salsas are were runny and a little too much emphasis on the spice vs flavor, but of course as with any salsa that might just be my personal preference.

The place ised to be opened 24 hours, new hour are 8:00 to 3:00. The specials are $10.99 and include soup or salad and agua fresca. Ery reasonable prices and the waitress is very attentive. The place is easy to see from the streets.
