Food was awesome...drinks could improve...not pleased at all with my server...

We stopped in yesterday to try the new irrest-a-bowl. Upon entering we were told we couldn’t have a booth because they were all dirty, and the place certainly wasn’t crowded. We were then seated at the back on the second level where we were totally ignored for 5-10 minutes at which time we decided it wasn’t going to be worth it and walked out.

I have never had problems with the old staff. There has been a hiring of a whole new staff. So if you didn't like the old staff now my be the time to come back. Half price appetizers always help.

Audrey was such a pleasure!!! The food was delicious... there was a 2 for $25 special for one appetizer and two full size entrees.. I got chicken and shrimp and my cousin got steak and one to go for her husband... everything was deliciously perfect! Cant wait to go back

We ordered two entrees and an appitizer for lunch. The bacon cheese burger was dry and over cooked, the fries were hard. The chicken lime fajita was horrible. The chicken tasted watery and hard, like if you thaw a frozen chicken breast in water quickly to cook it, frozen, not fresh. The rice, it was so dry and hard I didn't even bother to touch it. Then the lime. Usually you would want to squeeze the lime on your chicken and rice, but the lime was so dry rotted it wouldn't even squeeze. Service was very slow even though they were not busy. I feel bad some times being honest but knowing that Apple Bees is a well known chain I expected a better food experience than what we ate today for lunch. This is my first time here in 7 years because it wasn't pleasing food wise back then. I'm good if we never eat here again and I do not plan on going back. We have so many better options here in Wilmington to choose from. On a side note the Sweet Tea was good! That at least tasted freshly brewed.

So...I ordered the blackened Cajun salmon. Take a look at the photo and please tell me what looks “blackened” about it. It doesn’t help that the only seasoning I tasted on it was salt and pepper. Thankfully, our bartender offered to bring some Cajun seasoning over for me to sprinkle on top which made it better. My significant other got the shrimp and broccoli Alfredo which was good, therefore the saving grace for this experience.

I’ve been to this Applebee’s many times over the years and have never been disappointed. My food is always good. It’s an all-around good family restaurant. I am a big fan of the Clubhouse Grill sandwich and French Onion soup. Everything else I’ve ever had there has also been good. It’s not an upscale place but it’s great, casual, family-friendly dining.
