I had banku here and it reminded me exactly of West African food.

This is the worst place I never recommend to anyone to visit. The customer service so terrible without professionalism so bad. We got to the place and find out a place to sit because not one was able to help us there. After awhile someone took our order and make us to wait for almost 40 minutes. When we asked to check out our food the unprofessional servers realize they didn’t place our order so upset for us being there waiting for so long and then asked to continue waiting. I will never come back or even recommend this place to not one.

Very authentic Ghanian food. Live DJ at night time provides a great vibe. I tried the Egusi (ground melon seeds with spinach), and enjoyed it.

Excellent customer/food service and great ambiance. Food was also well-spiced. Only down side was that the fufu was a little too hard for my liking, other than that, food was 👍🏿

Great eat in basement style fashion don't expect much else. Sometimes there's a long wait but enjoy.

I'm Haitian and was put on Ghanian food recently by a friend. Of course their's was homemade. I googled and went on a weekday in the late afternoon. Service was prompt and hospitable and it was not busy. I got the Egusi Soup with oxtail and pounded yam. You can choose another meet besides oxtail. The food was delicious!

My meal was amazing. Very pricey, but that's because I got the whole snapper. Expect to pay $18 per entree to start. #DCisexpensive

I was at the restaurant and had to chase down waiter just to get a drink. And then to get a table was another issue. The experience was awful. Even when the waiter took my orders I waited over and hour and still did not see my food and finally when some one came by and I asked about the food then they said there must have been a mistake.and that our food had not been put in at all. I was so hungry I could not wait any longer.

It was very easy to find. I think they need more hands to help out there. Ambience was on point, loved the lighting and the effort to play West African music. The food was good, but my hands was forced to buy extra large tilapia when I had budgetted for me large.

Don't sit on this place! Seriously.... Tucked underneath the street level is one of the best food spots I have happened upon. I had never had traditional African food before and this food was exquisite!!!! And the waitress was super patient with all the excessive questioning about ingredients (I know, I know... Hate being that person but I was curious about everything!) We ordered multiple things and let me honestly tell you... EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! WOULD TOTALLY GO BACK!!!

The entrees were very good, everything has mild heat to it so if you don't like spice at all you might ask for items with no spice. I enjoyed the jollof rice with goat and it was delicious. My companion enjoyed the palmnut soup with fufu. Large portions and very tasty. The friend plantains were delicious but a little spicy, they are served with salted peanuts which really brings out the flavor of them and tones down the heat... Everything is made when you order so expect to wait at 30 mins or more for your main course.. I wod definitely go back

Great place for a group to try new food. Plus they have tej (Ethiopian honey wine). Injera is very good and plentiful. Would recommend the samosa appetizer and the beef tibs, very tasty. Owner was very hospitable and friendly. Only a couple blocks from the metro station, would return next time I'm in the area.
