A quaint little place on the waterfront of Grand Marais. VERY popular place. Ambiance is quite nice and the staff friendly and courteous. The food is fresh and we'll we'll presented...most (if not all) locally sourced. I appreciated the "sustainability" culture that the Angry Trout champions. I will be back

The smoked Cisco and Trout were very good, they paired well with the horseradish raspberry sauce and cheeses. The fresh catch was great fried, and it also comes on sandwiches or grilled. Only lost one star due to the wait, they were understaffed so opens tables sat empty as the line piles up by the door. Overall great experience and will be back for sure!

We came expecting a just a fried fish place--boy we were wrong. They also have a daily fresh catch menu with locally sourced ingredients but most of all it was delicious. Another plus is that it's truly on the water--not across the road!

Cute, local, quality, restaurant in Grand Marais with indoor or outdoor seating. We have usually experienced a bit of a wait (20+ minutes for our family of 4 w/infant) when coming here as visitors from the twin cities but feel it is definitely worth the wait. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful! We enjoy sitting along the lake and taking in the gorgeous view or skipping rocks while we wait. We love that they support their community by serving food on locally made pottery, their dining room is full of locally made tables and chairs and they serve fresh fish from the lake. We always look forward to eating here!

Incredible food and great service. Had the fish of the day sandwich with lake trout and two helpings of their trout chowder. Everything is perfectly paired and seasoned to bring out the best parts of the seafood.

Service- this place was crazy busy when we visited. It was during the fisherman's picnic so we waited an hour for a table. I was thinking with that long of a wait service would be slow but I was wrong. Staff was prompt with drinks and orders. Food was very quick. Not sure how they pulled that off but they have a solid system figured out. Food- all fresh ingredients which are local and listed on the back of the menu. Each plate is full of colorful fresh veggies which is almost too beautiful to eat. I can't wait to go back!

I've been here probably four times in the last year-- the ONLY place I go to eat in Grand Marais and I always get the beyond burger. I know you specialize in fish but as a vegan I totally appreciate that you have something on the menu that I can be excited about! And you cook it so well! Side of spicy maple chili sauce instead of mayo.. YUM! Thank you for always great, kind service and a warm, relaxed atmosphere!

Locally sourced and environmentally conscious approach to the food and service. They are proud of their small sized napkins made of hemp. I'm not a fan. The fish and chips were good; the tartar sauce was amazing.

So many things to say about the place. It really is worth a visit, it has the best fresh fish served with fantastic service and the views are phenomenal. I can only say that their fish is great but I’ve heard so many of their dishes have wonderfully complex tastes. To make it even better their plates are some of the best flatware I’ve seen in a long time.

Probably the best fish I have ever eaten in Minnesota! This place is small, but the craftsmanship and the service are amazing. It was definitely a surprise entering the building compared to what it looks like on the outside. They have a great selection of beer and wine, which you can enjoy while you wait for a seat. The fish is fresh and the quality is top notch. This place alone is a reason to stop in Grand Marais! The prices are moderate to high. I would recommend this place as a treat and not a quick lunch. Take your time and enjoy the view of Lake Superior and the fresh fish and wild rice.

Dinner plate with battered fried fish, with wild rice, and salad. Was expecting trout but their fish of the day were cod didn't like it. Tartar sauce were a little bland for my taste. Other then that was good.

Good selection of food, all natural. Always good service and beautiful seating right on Lake Superior. Gets very busy on the weekends and waiting to use the outside bathrooms is a bit of a bummer. Still, you can't beat the beautiful view. I also really love their selection of teas.
