The meals at Andersen's are quite good. With its prime location and sunny outdoor patio, it looks like a tourist trap, but the food is tasty and reasonably priced, especially at happy hour. I recommend the Vol-au-vents, although for most people the main draw here are the pastries, which you can order from the counter to-go. A nice place to have breakfast, too.

I went here a couple weeks ago and it was terrible! Is one of the owners of thjs place a cop on Santa Barbara?! Seems familiar ...

Pretty nice brunch location. They serve both sweet and savory meal options that may not be friendly to vegetarians. The Benedicts are excellent, especially the crab cake. I especially like the crunchy pastry they substitute for the usual English muffin. The portions are not quite as generous as other brunch eateries, but they are satisfying. The mimosas are good, with fresh orange juice. The staff served us complimentary raisin bread when we arrived. When I visited on a Sunday morning, I was seated right away. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor of the bakery very cute. I have had some excellent cake here for lunch. I'm sure the rest if their pastries are good as well.

A wonderful restaurant with sidewalk dining offering people watching. It has very good selections of European style menu , a wonderful Bakery, and a generous happy hour. One of the prettiest locations on State Street as well. The service is happy and energetic. It is one of our favorite places to dine at.

Dining on the front patio! Cut a hole in your mask and enjoy. Mrs Anderson is an institution. Have some strudel

Marvelous food. Very poor service. Waitress promised a bread basket, then forgot it. Never offered water. Out of the tea we ordered. Took forever for the food. Should not have to wait almost an hour for lunch. Waitress offered a discount but never provided it. We ended up paying at the bakery as waitress never returned. Purchased pastries to go -- delicious.

Very well kept and welcoming restaurant. They offer generous meals and for economical prices. We liked the food very much and the staff members were very personal and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this spot.

If you visit Santa Barbara you have to come here! The bakery is filled with delicious pastries that just melt in your mouth. The breakfasts were amazing and very generous portions. You will not leave hungry. There were 6 of us on vacation and I won for choosing the best place to eat. 😊 We sent my husband back twice to get croissants (the best we've ever had) and pastries to bring to the house. Everything was freshly made and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This place is worth visiting. They have large portions for convenient rates. Always well organized and with excellent atmosphere. Would recommend to others.

The street tacos were not great! When you list something as a street taco, it should come in a soft shell and with not nearly that much sour cream. Then again, why would someone order street tacos at a Danish eatery in California? Because they are $6 during happy house and if they were great, it would be something to come back for! The marzipan cake was really fantastic! It's the 5-star part of this review. From the white chocolate twirl and strawberry that perfectly matched the delicious green exterior to the delightful ice cream inside, it was delectable and exquisite!

Food was amazing! I had eggplant benedict, and it was so good! They serve Danish as house complementary while you wait for your food.

Stop by and pick up pastries, but dont eat here.Service is awful....the staff are grazing on bread whe they serve. They cut the bread by hand, then handle money and no one washes their hands. The cheese plate comes on a piece of two day old lettuce, hoping you dont need any attention as the staff are too busy chatting and eating to help you.
