Amandaa€™S Cupcake Cafe

Amanda's is a great local eatery for breakfast lunch and dinner. The cupcakes are to die for. Especially true for the chocolate espresso flavor with a coffee bean on top. I love that one! But this place is so much more than just another cupcake shop. It's right on Main St. In Historic Downtown Hopkinsville and is a true asset to our community. Amanda is a fantastic chef. My favorites are the family recipe chicken salad sandwiches she makes daily, and the French pressed coffee she makes by the cup for special order. I don't know where she gets her coffee, but it's a great blend and tastes amazing. Options abound when ordering coffee. Her soups are delicious, and she makes a mean banana split. Can't find the picture of the banana split I ate on my birthday, but I will come back and post when it turns up. Many more menu options as well. Amanda is professional, courteous & has amazing cakes. Highly recommend her for cakes.

I wasn't super impressed. I feel as though if you're a bakery, all baked goods should be prepared in house. I ordered two different things from the lunch menu with bread products and both were store bought. The cupcakes are fantastic, though. We tried two different kinds. The icing was very rich. There are a variety of box sizes to choose from in decoration The lasagna was delicious, very meaty and cheesy. It was served with a buttered and toasted bun of some sort, nothing special about it. The side salad was just head lettuce with shredded carrots and grape tomatoes on top. The Italian? dressing was good though. The turkey sandwich was a store bought sub roll with deli turkey and single wrapped cheese on it. Mayo and mustard were offered as dressing. No sides.The serving ware (plates, cutlery) isn't pretty nor environmentally friendly.Ms. Amanda was very pleasant and professional. Her demeanor with several customers was very personal and welcoming.
