With a fantastic atmosphere and great food, what looks like a hole in the wall turned out to be one of my favorite dining experiences in NYC. Definitely try it out but make a reservation. Pro tip: The brussel sprouts are fantastic and the braised short ribs are great too.

We had a group of 12 and ate everything on the menu. Many of the dishes are done very well. I really enjoyed Fried Hen of the woods, arugula, Brussel sprouts. The server was very kind. We came pretty late in the night and he was very accommodating and did not make us feel rushed at all.

Great food, wonderful ambiance. Everything we tried was delicious. Not that this place only accepts amex it cash, so come prepared.

Cozy and romantic place -- sit upstairs in the balcony for a little quiet. Get the fried goat cheese and caulilini! Two plates per person would have been enough for us.

We went to Alta for team dinner, and so far it was one of the best places in the city I've been to. I absolutely loved the service, the quality of food. It tasted exactly like in Spain. For a moment I actually thought I'm not in New York anymore. We ordered three tapas per person and a couple of bottles of wine. The octopus was great! Just a perfect combination of spices. Alta has a great choice of Spanish wines! Everything was very delicious, so we had a really good time!

Be sure to keep an eye out for Alta or you might be able to walk right by since there isn't any signage. It's on the garden level but once you walk inside, the space is rather large with a second floor that opens up over the main dining area with a fireplace. I sat at the bar with two friends and we ordered two orders of the fried goat cheese appetizers with honey because they were THAT good. Cocktail prices are average, the dinner menu looks great and the decor is awesome.

The food is creative and tasty, what could you want more? So we pretty much ordered the entire menu and it showed the depth of the food. However, the chef that was there who prepared the menu we had is no longer there, so there might be a variance in what's offered now compared to what's pictured. The service is pretty good, but the food is definitely something you want to repeat.Although it's tapas style, you'll feel full by the end. The atmosphere is also boisterous so you can come here with a large group, but make a reservation or you might not get seated in reasonable time.

Amazing food, every small plate tasted great. The only issue with the place is that it accepts only cash or amex. Kinda makes payment process difficult.

Amazing food. Plenty of options for Vegetarians. The food portions are small, tapas sized. Ideal for small groups and dates, I would recommend reservations. We were a group of 10 and were able to get a table cause we made prior reservations. For large groups they have the Shebang, which is 1 of each item on the menu.

Visited this unassuming Mediterranean restaurant with a big group of people. They brought out a series of delightful small plates including a yummy seared tuna with arugula, a very nice beet salad with fresh goat cheese.

We went there for a casual dinner.. good food and cocktails. Try the goat cheese balls for appetizers!
