I had not been to this old Americana family style restaurant in about a decade, but was pleasantly surprised that basically nothing had changed. The traditional southern cooking was evident in my mac and cheese and collard greens! And the pulled pork sandwich was absolutely delicious. Allman's continues to get it right when it comes to American barbecue. If you are visiting Fredricksburg, or even just passing by on I-95, it's definitely worth the stop (just 3 or 4 minutes from the exit ramp). Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the prices are appealing especially for the quantity you receive.

Formerly I gave this place a 5 star review. I always go with my son. We've only come during the day till tonight. I had a minced BBQ pork platter. The pork was as dry as moist packed beef jerky. It had clearly been prepared in advance and was allowed to dry out. The only way I could get it down was to flood it with BBQ sauce. The fries were overcooked dry and hard. My son was hungry so he crunched through them. The Cole slaw was swimming in mayo and for some strange reason topped with an unusually large amount of paprika. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is I know what it can be. If my first meal was like tonight's I would have never come back.

Simply great BBQ. Low energy environment, but very courteous staff. Please try the mac n cheese! Oddly enough... the ice cream was phenomenal as well!! Let's eat!

Oh the Pulled Pork was great. I pour on a vinegar sauce and it brought out the favor even more. It was even bff after the second day.

5 stars for speed and the double sizes. The burger itself was fine, but it came out super fast after ordering! The fries were delicious and the mac and cheese is top notch (reminiscent of the best gas station mac and cheese you can imagine). Generous wait staff and fun location! Boyfriend loved the BBQ too 👌ðŸ¼

Very historic BBQ restaurant. Nice portions.Only one BBQ sauce. The sauce is unique. It is not a ketchup or vinegar based sauce. Sits on the corner of an intersection so be careful bringing kids there.

Stopped in by referral and it did not disappoint. The portions are generous with tasty food and fast. Small local place and one I can tell is a local favorite... was actually recommended by a local.

Take a moment and step back in time...this little BBQ joint has to be 60+ yrs old...and not much has changed. Very pleasant staff, great service and good food...just like.momma used to make. I think she is still back there in the kitchen!

If you're looking to jump back in time to a classic diner with GOOD Bar-B-Q, this is the place to go. A great small business with awesome service and an atmosphere that makes this place feel like I'm eating in the comfort of my own home. I LOVE their unique barbeque sauce, and the portions here are more than enough to feed a single person (and I eat a LOT). Parking is a little tough, but this place is worth the small inconvenience. Christy provided us with especially good service, and all the workers are extremely friendly. Good food, good place, good people.
