Alex Chinese and Grill

It's mostly a takeout joint and the decor reflects that, but they have a handful of small tables where you can eat in, and the food is good enough that you shouldn't care. They make a very respectable General Tao's Chicken with large chunks of white meat, instead of the over-breaded or thin-shredded bits of mystery meat you expect at the myriad of sub-par Chinese places out there. Their spring rolls are very good, though their egg rolls are oddly just average and need a lot of plum sauce. As a hot mustard fan, the mustard they serve in packets really sucks and is my biggest disappointment in this place. I don't think the chicken fried rice has much chicken in it, but for the sub-$6 price of the lunch combo I cannot complain much. If you got it as an entree, I'm pretty sure it would have more meat. The service is reasonably quick and friendly, though neither of the owners really go above and beyond the call of duty.

This is an EXCELLENT take-out or cozy eat-in Chinese food establishment that caters more to take-out customers. The menu selection is mostly Chinese American, but the prices are economical, and the staff are friendly. Alex Chinese & Grill is the best local Chinese take-out place in Orion Township.

I just moved in the area, haven't had the food yet, but the people are mean. That's all. I do hope the food is good though.
