I won’t come to Fort Lauderdale without eating a Torta at Alegria! It’s the best!

Great tacos (Try the Al Pastor!) served with a smile in this cramped little taco joint! The staff is very warm and friendly and treats you like family after just a few visits. They have a variety of interesting and unusual soft drinks/beverages including Mexican Coca Cola. I've only ever had the tacos here but there's a torta that looks amazing too!

This place has vibes as good as its name ("Alegría" meaning "Happiness" in Spanish). First of all, you will be served by the owners, who know how to make you feel like you're visiting family. The food is delicious, the portions are large and the pricing is very affordable. Not too many tables inside, but you can definitely grab and go. I was lucky enough to get a table before rush hour, and had a great time just watching locals coming in and out and being treated as regular customers. No wonder the place has been there for 13+ years under the same administration!

This is your typical hole in the wall, amazing food, in and out, inexpensive place to go to have authentic Mexican food. The flavor is amazing, the best I had in south Florida. 2 things: be ready to wait a lonnnnnng time to place your order, and then to pay. Service is very slow, so not good to go if you are in a rush. Food prep time is reasonable.Also be ready to not have a functioning A/C. It can be hot and humid if you go there in the summer.

These tacos are amazing. Small family-run restaurant with some of the best tacos I’ve had in my life. I had a steak, chicken, and veggie taco with the rice and beans and it was delicious. The family that owns the restaurant cooks them for you and you can see and taste the care they put into it. Stunning. Highly recommended!

WOW these may have been the best tacos I’ve ever had, seriously. It’s a small hole in the wall restaurant, family owned, and the service was top notch. Super authentic!! We will easily be coming here as regulars for now on.

I challenge anybody in the Ft. Lauderdale area to find more authentic, better tasting tacos. IMPOSSIBLE! I have spent much time in Mexico and I guarantee you will not find a more authentic better tasting taco anywhere. Mexico included!
