Akai Hana Japanese Restaurant

We were in town for a Tech conference and wanted to try Sushi for Dinner..so, out came the phone > Google > Best Sushi Nearby > Akai Hana (4.7 stars) > off we went to Carrboro 👍And boy, Google was absolutely right in suggesting the place.. they mean business when it comes to Sushi.. we were 4 colleagues and orders two rolls each of different kind - philly, hurricane, dragon, bread & butter, rainbow, spider, spicy tuna, avocado..Each one was better than the other.. we had the avocado roll as the palate cleaner..The fish were all fresh.. no complains ..Over all, very happy.We will come back.. 5 stars 🤘

I enjoy this place. They have a cool sushi bar and have consistently good sushi with a few unusual rolls that are hard to find elsewhere like pickled vegetable rolls. Great place to go with friends. Prices are reasonable.

Cool Japanese restaurant with decent price dishes. Definitely would consider coming back for more.

I wish there was a location closer to me. Their sushi is on point! The rice is always fresh and perfect. I like getting their more traditional rolls. The quality is definitely there. Worth going to!

Good location with easy access. Parking lot is small though I suppose the restaurant itself is not huge. Awesome service. Waitress was so nice and funny. Gave my son free ice cream, black sesame flavor. Tastes exactly like its name, very interesting. Ordered a soda. Was brought a glass of ice and a 20oz bottle which is kind of nice but it was past its best by date.The sushi rolls I ordered were delicious. My son ordered shrimp nigiri and the texture seemed a little too chewy. Soup was good though a little too salty. Salad dressing was not my favorite, menu says ginger but that's not the flavor I tasted. Texture was weird too. Both pork and chicken cutlets we ordered were very dry. Broccoli was perfect texture, carrots were undercooked. Chicken teriyaki was very nice.Spent over $100. Seems a bit much for 3 people but I guess we ordered too many appetizers. I'd return here again.

Great lunch spot. Good value and swift service. I was reluctant about the sushi burrito but am so glad I tried it. For me it was the perfect lunch.

I've been waiting for this option in Chapel Hill for a while now. The tamago and unagi are incredible.
