We were so impressed with Aikana, the food and drinks were amazing! Get a reservation right now, no detail was spared with the decor, bar menu, and food ingredients. The inside is made to make you feel like you are in the jungle (per our server) A few things to note before going: 1) If you are in a party of two you will most likely be sitting along a long communal table in the middle of the restaurant sitting next to strangers (not a big deal but people kept saying they weren't aware of this as they sat) 2) The food is very different, we loved that but you will be trying new things 3) the servers are incredibly well versed in all the drinks and menu, so def asked as we needed help to know what each dish was. Andres was amazing and guided us through the whole experience. The bar menu was so cool, each drink has its own photo and they had so many choices. Only downside is that most of the drinks have HUGE ice cubes in them, so the actual amount of drink is pretty small but they were all amazing. (lots of pics to see) Where else can you get a drink with Mezcal and Whiskey in it!? I'd recommend you get 2-3 starters and one main dish. We did the Mote (was a chorizo dish) and it was so good and presentation was really nice (pics attached). I would not do the Cod Wings as I was constantly picking bones out of my teeth. We also did the Chef's special (pic attached) and we were not disappointed and it was SO much food we had a second meal the next day. It included steak, chicken, pork belly, prawns and sauces with rice and beans. Overall this is such a great addition to the West Loop and I can't wait to go back!

A bit pricy but food is good

Had high expectations based on reviews and photos but was left disappointed. This place is overhyped and the food was poorly seasoned. The only saving grace is the short ribs which were tender and perfectly seasoned, although a bit on the salty side. We got ceviche, wagyu arepas, carne apache, pincho, and cod wings for apps. The ceviche was good but the cod wings were too salty. The wagyu on the arepas were buttery and well done but the arepa was hard and dry. We didn’t order the pincho but they wrongly delivered it and charged us for it anyway with no apology or even offering to correct the mistake. Presentation is 10/10 but food quality is poor for the money. Save your money and go somewhere else. There are tons of better options in West Loop/Fulton Market

We went to Aikana to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by the front desk wishing us a Happy Anniversary, provided a card signed by the staff, and complimentary champagne for our meal. The ambiance is very romantic, the staff was very attentive, and the dishes are truly created with artistry. Flavor combinations were amazing, and the dessert we had at the end of the meal was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. To top it off, at the end of the night my husband’s stomach was a little upset because he has lactose intolerance and decided to have a dessert containing dairy against his better judgment. He asked the front desk as we were leaving if they could direct us somewhere to buy a ginger ale and they offered to give him a glass bottle to go on the house. Thanks, Aikana! Truly a magical dining experience!

Really enjoyed our time here. All of the food I tasted I enjoyed, and the service was fantastic. Prices were reasonable for the quantity of food received. Great place to go meet up with friends and share plates.

Poor service, overpriced food. Right when we were given our menus, we were served a dish that was not ours! That was a red flag for the rest of the meal. Food and decor looks great for pictures but severely lacked flavor - the dishes were either over salted or completely bland. Ordered four appetizers to start and one was a wrong item. Re-ordered the appetizer that was missing, and an entree. This time two entrees show up - one was correct and the other was again for another table! There were too few waiters, too many bussers clearing dishes and everyone was untrained. They also add a 20% automatically for any party size, which I’m fine with had the service and food reflected that. I don’t foresee this place having longevity in the neighborhood. It’s a once and done kinda place.

Aikana brings a fresh and incredible experience for some of the best Latino Fusion and South America fare. Service was incredibly trained for only being open recently, the Wine and Cocktails were well curated and Chef did not miss a beat either. Will be back for a date night, entertaining guests from out of town, or for business dinners.

$164 for those “fresh prawns”. LOL. Never go there again.
