Prices reasonable. Food tasty and authentic. Atmosphere needs some investment. Must have cash to pay.

When you’re on a budget and craving for authentic latin food... El Caracol is the best place to go with authentic home cooked El Salvadorian cuisine. Love the Sopa de Modonggo, Shrimp Cevice, Poposa, and Carne Asada. Btw, if you’re adventurous you may try Horacha and Tamarindo drinks :)

Went to the area for my fave Vietnamese, and was saddened when we got there and it was closed. However, we then happened to stumble upon this gem!I travelled to 6 cities over 2 weeks in Mexico about 3 years ago and ate at a lot of restaurants with locals. Must say this place reminded me of all of the delicious food that I've had while there. It's literally grandma cooking in the back, so she knows what's up!!!! Place is small, and cash only, but definitely going back with others.

El Caracol is a small and colorful Salvadorian restaurant with a touch of Mexican cuisine. My girlfriend tried a exquisite bowl of Ceviche (10/10) and I tried their famous Pupusas (7/10), also known as Gorditas in Mexico. We both got Horchata water and I don't know if it was salvadorean recipe because the water was brownish instead of white but in general we didn't like it (4/10). *Also be aware they only accept cash.*

Food is very good and good quantity for the price you are paying. Food can take a while, depending on what you are ordering, so if in a rush, might want to go somewhere else.Cash only, free parking in the back, if you are lucky. I've eaten there many times and will return.

I showed up close to close and they served me kindly. I am grateful they were open and I wasn't turned away.

Price was reasonable, serving was huge and the atmosphere is cozy. If that isn't for you, then don't go. If you do go, it's small enough that you feel compelled to say hi, and bye, to everyone sitting as they are practically sitting at your table. The server is a sweetheart. Edit time- I don't care where the bathroom is! The restaurant is awesome, so awesome that my 6 year old son remembers their name.

Great food, large portions, fair price. Only down sides are that they are cash only and have very limited space. Still worth the trip. Amazing papusas.

I don't understand why this place isn't packed from morning till night. The food is great, affordable, with many veg and non veg options. The pupusas especially are outstanding, as is the seafood in coconut sauce, and the enchiladas. And the drink menu is great. All very affordable.

Affordable yet insanely delicious Mexican food!Small and cozy area with cute and very Mexican decor. They painted the beach scenery directly on the wall which is very appealing.Food looked quite ordinary but it tasted AMAZING. I won’t recommend anything just order everything they will all turn out to be extremely tasty, from the tender and cheesy chicken to well-marinated beef. Even the drink will make you say Wow immediately after the first sip.Just a little warning is that it takes quite long to get a seat (depends on the hours) and to wait for the food, since there are only two female employees (aka cooks aka servers).
