Amazing udon! Really great and affordable sushi. Awesome service. I go here with my siblings every few weeks. It's the only Japanese food I've come across thatakes me crave it enough to come back over and over. The soup is phenomenal. The sushi is delicious. Just anything you order will be really freaking good! The best Japanese food in atascocita I swear!

I've had a lot of sushi all around the US and Europe and 838 is still my favorite. Always great quality fish and the chef Ricky makes an art of every sushi piece he makes!

Fabulous plating. The EBI Prawn appetizer tempura was delicious. Aroma was robust with YukiUdon and the White Tiger roll was a work of art. As others have said, even though we were full, we still wanted more. Great 'date night' destination and reasonably priced.

Love this place. Our favorite by far. The owners are very nice and remember you and take great care of you. Our regular date night spot!

The happy hour is an amazing deal! There are a bunch of really good rolls for $3. Service was quick and our waitress was on top of our drinks for refills. Parking can be difficult because it shared the lot with Kroger.

My last few times using to go have taken longer than quoted on the phone. They say 15 minutes but take 30 to prepare.

Love everything about this place, they bend over backwards on service and let you drink all you want... But will put you in a cab... food is awesome will fix anything you remember from being over seas. Love the owners

I've enjoyed 838 for 10 years now and it remains at the top of my list for sushi in the greater Houston area. The chicken katsu don and crunchy rolls cannot be beat! The black snake roll is also a favorite and let's not forget the unique tuna dumpling appetizer. I have never had anything like it and it is well worth the price. Mr. Lim loves his customers and takes pride in his craft - it shows in the delicious menu items and in the choice cuts of the catch of the day. Service is polite and accommodating, prices are competitive and reasonable and the restaurant (as well as its restrooms) are always kept very clean.A must-try for sushi lovers willing to go out of their way for the best.
